A Skyrim fan kills a legendary dragon with a single strike, ending the battle in an anticlimactic fashion. Players will fight dragons several times throughout their playthroughs of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, with many of these battles being random encounters while exploring the world.
Skyrim also features more powerful legendary dragons that spawn once players are at a level 78 or higher. However, it can take a long time for gamers to hit level 78, as they would have likely finished the main story, and most of the quests, by the time they reach this stage. An interesting stat related to a Skyrim achievement also reveals that many players have not fought legendary dragons in their playthrough. Legendary dragons are said to be difficult encounters, but a fan managed to kill one with a single swing of their weapon.
A Reddit user named Phsfalcao has shared a clip from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim featuring this battle. The video begins with the player obtaining a word of power for the Dismay dragon shout in Skyrim, but a legendary dragon lands next to them at that exact moment. Phsfalcao sprints towards the dragon and kills it with a single swing of their blade without triggering a cinematic kill cam, and gets an amethyst, dragon bones, 633 gold, and a few other items for their efforts. There appears to be a reasonable explanation for these events, as Phsfalcao is wielding a weapon with a powerful bonus ability.
The player is using Mehrunes' Razor, a unique dagger in Skyrim that has a very small chance of instantly killing the opponent. The chance to insta-kill enemies is just 2%, but the RNG works out in Phsfalcao’s favor as seen in the video. Other users in the comments section also praise Mehrunes' Razor and its unique properties, and this is followed by a discussion on a noticeable drawback of using this weapon, as the ebony warrior can reflect the attack back at the player, killing them instantly.
Fans interested in getting Mehrunes' Razor in their Skyrim playthrough need to complete a quest named Pieces of the Past. At level 20, players should receive a courier inviting them to the Museum in Dawnstar, and users will eventually be tasked with finding missing pieces of the dagger. There are several unique weapons in Skyrim that kill opponents with ease, but Mehrunes' Razor appears to be especially useful in taking out some of the toughest enemies in the game.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
