There's no denying that the community around Skyrim is full of people with a sense of humor, as evidenced by a recent question posted by a fan that was met largely with comically wrong answers. As the ongoing uncertainty about the development status of The Elder Scrolls 6 continues, the fifth entry in Bethesda's immensely influential fantasy RPG series is still not showing any major drops in popularity, despite the game turning 12 later this year. Much of this is because players really like talking about the game.

Even now Skyrim fans love a good debate, whether it's discussing the best city for the Dragonborn to visit or which of the Nine Divines is their favorite. Over the years, it's become apparent that TES5 is more than just what exists within the game world itself as players show off their artwork and other creations. The 2011 release has certainly been a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry. Though the fan base is dedicated to all things related to Skyrim, often they like to have a little fun.

In a recent post on Reddit, user kellnePS4 asked an innocent enough question about an in-game Skyrim item. Uploading an image of some of the game's Long Taffy Treat, they simply asked others what this mysterious thing was. While there were a couple of serious responses, others decided to go in a more silly direction. For example, andromedaprima described the long, red food item as a Cloud District member card, while aHostageSausage said it looked more like a Hot Wheels track. User marlixys decided on a more tasty but dangerous tact by saying that the taffy is actually cursed bacon. Others still described it as a "tapeworm."

In any case, it shows that the TES5 community is not above a little trolling every now and then. For those who don't know, Skyrim's Long Taffy Treat is just one of many food items the player can gather and, in fact, it can actually be useful for regaining a bit of stamina.

The recent Reddit post also shows that, after nearly 12 years, Skyrim players are still discovering new things about the aging release, and Bethesda continuing to re-release it every new generation is just one of the reasons The Elder Scrolls 5 is still going as strong as ever. As long as people have burning questions about the game, it will likely continue to remain in the limelight.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
