Elder Scrolls Fan Gets Real-Life Skyrim Fork for Christmas
An Elder Scrolls fan received a unique gift from their partner for Christmas, unwrapping a real-life version of a fork from the game.
A new Skyrim mod by the name of Biggie Traits has been released on Nexus Mods, bringing Traits to the game for the first time. While creating a new Skyrim character, players can choose up to two Traits, from a selection of 29. These Traits provide a buff to the character, while also providing a nerf - it's up to the player to decide which ones are worth the trade-off. This can massively affect a playthrough, so it should be carefully considered, adding an entirely new roleplaying dynamic to the game. Creator shazdeh2 has even made it compatible with alternate start Skyrim mods, which are commonly used by players modding the game nowadays.
Skyrim Mod Adds Fallout: New Vegas' Traits
Traits were extremely popular upon their inclusion in Fallout: New Vegas, and they essentially work precisely the same here. The mod's creator even cites Obsidian's 2010 RPG as a direct influence, making it "with the goal of creating new and fun playstyles." Traits would later appear in Starfield, too, although they're yet to appear in an Elder Scrolls game outside of mods.
With very few Elder Scrolls 6 development updates at the moment, it seems as though Skyrim's modding scene will remain extremely popular for a while longer yet. It feels as though the only thing that could halt the scene's momentum is the release of a new game in the series, but even then, there's no guarantee that players would leave Skyrim behind, especially given how much progress modders have made over the last few years. Hopefully, the level of innovation that Skyrim modding has seen lately will continue long into the future.
