- A new Skyrim mod fixes item grabbing & placing frustrations, making house decorating easier.

- "Better Grabbing" mod allows players to customize item manipulation controls for a better experience.
A brand-new Skyrim mod has fixed grabbing and placing items, which has always been seen as one of the clunkiest features in the game. It can be frustrating to have to fight with Skyrim's physics engine when picking up an item, but 13 years later, this is no longer the case with this mod.
It's incredible how important the modding community has been to Skyrim's longevity. While the 13-year-old base game is undoubtedly dated at this point, there are plenty of mods that can help the game look as though it's a recent release. It's not just the graphics that have been improved, either. There are plenty of Skyrim total conversion mods that transform the game into something totally different, usually arriving with tons of new content for players to explore. Sure, players may have completed the vanilla Skyrim questlines ten times over, but they're always coming back to try out the latest epic creation from the modding community.
The new Skyrim mod is titled "Better Grabbing," and can be found on Nexus Mods by author SkyrimThiago. Footage of the mod in action was also posted to YouTube by the user. It completely overhauls the game's grabbing feature, which has often been touted as one of the biggest things about Skyrim that hasn't aged well. In the base game, it's incredibly clunky, and placing items neatly is nearly impossible. With this mod, players can move items along any axis at the push of a button, and can even rotate them in place as desired. It even disables collision with other objects while an item is picked up, so players rearranging their home won't accidentally destroy their hard work elsewhere.
Skyrim Mod Fixes Item Grabbing and Placing
The frustration of house decorating in Skyrim is well known at this point, and players who enjoy this part of the game will likely benefit the most from downloading "Better Grabbing." Players can even head into the mod's.ini file to customize the input controls and properties, so gamers aren't just stuck with the default settings that SkyrimThiago thinks is best. As far as Skyrim quality-of-life mods go, this one is right up there with the best of them.
While the modding community continues to make great strides with Skyrim, there's undoubtedly a growing appetite from fans for Bethesda to tell them a little more about The Elder Scrolls 6. The game was first officially announced back in 2018, but official news on the title has been difficult to come by since. Earlier this year, a Bethesda developer accidentally hinted at The Elder Scrolls 6's setting via a public Pinterest board, but even this isn't anything confirmed to cling to.
