YouTuber and Twitch streamer Skumnut has broken yet another Elden Ring record, this time by beating New Game+ 1000 with uncapped NG+ scaling without taking a single hit. This unbelievable feat took the Elden Ring player no less than three weeks and 115 attempts, making him the first in the world to achieve such a milestone.
Video game difficulty has been a point of contention among players, especially when it comes to challenging games like those from FromSoftware. The studio is known for offering its games with only one difficulty level, preventing players from making their first run easier or more difficult. This has sparked a wave of players who challenge themselves by beating FromSoftware’s games under conditions that make the feats harder to achieve, like defeating a boss without taking a hit. Streamer Skumnut is one of them, with a track record of remarkable achievements in the game, such as beating Elden Ring and its DLC with a level 1 character. Now, Skumnut has pushed the limits even further, becoming the first player in the world to pull off an incredible feat.
Elden Ring Player Creates Surprisingly Accurate NieR: Automata Character
A gamer makes an avatar in Elden Ring that does an incredible job of depicting one of the main characters from NieR: Automata.
After three weeks and 115 attempts, YouTuber and Twitch streamer Skumnut has become the “first in the world, probably the last” to beat Elden Ring’s New Game+ 1000 with uncapped NG+ scaling without taking a single hit. The player celebrated his achievement on Twitter by posting a video of the final moments fighting the game’s last boss. Each New Game+ makes things even more challenging, as Elden Ring’s bosses become tougher. Skumnut explained that once New Game+ 1000 is reached, bosses have 500k+ HP, turning every encounter into a truly challenging experience.
Skumnut Beats Elden Ring New Game+ 1000 with Uncapped NG+ Scaling, No Hits
Responding to a player’s query about the difference between beating the game at NG+ 7 and 1000, the streamer explained that, while NG+ 7 is challenging, at that level it’s still possible not to die from a single hit, as physical and status resistances vary greatly between NG+ and NG+ 1000. Additionally, he explained that in NG+ 1000, Elden Ring’s weapons would do only 10-20 damage, whereas in NG+ 7, it’s possible to inflict real damage.
Elden Ring’s difficulty has been questioned in the past, especially with users complaining that Shadow of the Erdtree felt too hard and sometimes unfair. To address this issue, FromSoftware rolled out a patch introducing balance adjustments while maintaining its gameplay vision. However, even with its iconic challenging difficulty, Skumnut managed to pull off a feat he believes is unlikely to be replicated in the future, not even by him.
