Full Circle’s Skate is in its early access phase, and fans have already flocked to it to enjoy digital skateboarding at its best. With stream counts climbing and servers often packed, solo players might start looking for ways to share the experience with friends.
The good news is that the game isn’t just multiplayer; it also supports crossplay, meaning you can connect with friends no matter what platform they’re on. Some challenges even make co-op almost essential if you want to push further. This guide will help you join friends in Skate 4 and handle any Crossplay errors.
How to Play Skate 4 with Friends
First things first, if you want to skate with your buddies, you’ll need to add them. To do this, enter their EA ID in the search bar and send a friend request. If you’re not sure where to find it, press ESC to open the hub, scroll down to Social & Spectate, and select the second-to-last tab.
For homies on other platforms like Xbox One or PS4/PS5, type their IDs instead to drop an invite. Once they accept, they’ll appear in your friends list and be available for co-op sessions whenever they’re online.
In Skate 4, the main way to play together is through Party Mode. Once your friends are online, press left on the d-pad, open their profile under ‘Friends,’ and select Invite to Party. After they approve, they can instantly teleport to your spot and start hitting challenges like Party Up to Party Down for extra Rip points, Throwdowns for some head-to-head action, or just flex fun tricks with you. If you’d rather join their lobby, choose Join Party instead of their profile.
Keep in mind, lobbies in Skate are public, so random skaters can drop in. Each party supports up to four players, so if you want to swap people, someone will need to exit the room.
Which Cross-Platforms Does Skate 4 Support?
As of now, Skate only allows cross-play with players on platforms like PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. Since this skateboarding legend is still in its initial release, this information is subject to change at any time.
Luckily, the game allows cross-progression as well, so even if you switch to another platform from your main device, you will still be able to access all your data and start right where you left off.
How to Fix Cross-Play Errors in Skate 4
Since its soft launch, Skate has been hit with multiple bugs, leading to mixed reviews from players. One common issue is the inability to invite and play with friends. If you’re facing the same problem, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- Your friends are on platforms not allowed by Skate 4 (e.g., older Xbox versions).
- Cross-Play is not enabled in Settings.
For the latter, try turning Cross-Play off and then back on, which can be done in the General Settings. Only by restarting the game will you apply the changes. If the issue persists, you can fill out Skate’s survey to provide feedback or follow the game's social media channels for updates.
