Sk8 the Infinity Season 2: What We Know So Far
Now that Sk8 the Infinity Season 2 is confirmed to be on the way, here's a close look at what's been revealed about it so far.
The new trailer is longer than the previous "full trailer," and it previews the four episodes of this OVA:
When Will the OVA Make Its Debut?
Extra Part will run in Japanese theaters for a limited time before the home video release. It will be screened starting from January 24, 2025. The Blu-ray will ship on March 19.
The OVA consists of four short episodes, each one featuring a different story with different characters. The first one focuses on Reki, Langa, and Miya; the second on Shadow; the third on Joe and Cherry; and the final one on Adam and Snake.
According to ANN, the episodes are titled "Ame to Neko Conbini Ice Soda Aji," "Maji de Maji ni Nareru Koto," "Morning Routine," and "Ganbare Hiromi-chan!".
While the OVA is just 25 minutes long, the theater version contains a video compiling the first season and another one featuring the cast, so it's 60 minutes long.
Has The International Release Been Confirmed?
So far, no international release has been confirmed. However, the first season is available on Crunchyroll, which frequently licenses this type of content. Thus, it is possible that the OVA will eventually reach overseas audiences. If that happens, it will most likely be on or after March 19, 2025.
Sk8 the Infinity follows Reki and Langa, who unwittingly enter a perilous skateboarding race known as "S." While Reki loves skateboarding, Langa has never done it before. Together, they wil embark on a skateboarding "rally" journey, challenging even artificial intelligence.
This is an original animation created by Studio Bones (My Hero Academia) and Hiroko Utsumi (Free! Eternal Summer and Banana Fish director) — because of Utsumi's involvement, BL fanbases tend to like this series.
Sk8 the Infinity is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed.
