The Sims 4 is set in a virtual world where players can create virtual characters and shape their lives. From choosing their career paths to managing their romantic life, gamers have absolute control over everything. Players need money for pretty much everything in this title, and like in real life, jobs are a primary way for them to earn money. Sims that have a job go to work during their scheduled hours and receive a salary for their work, which increases as they advance in their careers and get promoted to higher positions.
There are dozens of job options in The Sims 4, each with different responsibilities and opportunities for advancement. However, players may sometimes want to change their Sim’s job to bring variety and introduce new challenges to the game. Therefore, this handy guide will assist players with the process of switching jobs in The Sims 4.
How To Quit A Job In The Sims 4
Luckily, changing a job in The Sims 4 is an absolute breeze.
- A Sim cannot have two jobs simultaneously. Therefore, if the Sim in question already has a job, players will have to quit it first. They can start by clicking the phone icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen to access the Sim’s smartphone.
- Here, players will find the ‘Career/Household’ option, represented by a briefcase. Click on it and then choose ‘Quit Job’ from the menu.
- A confirmation message will appear, asking the player if they’re sure they want to quit the job. Confirm by selecting ‘Ok.’
Alternatively, a Sim can also use a computer to quit their job. For this purpose, interact with the computer, go to the ‘Careers’ tab, and choose ‘Quit Job.’
Quitting Jobs Using Cheats
Players also have the option of using a cheat code to quit their Sim's job.
- Like all cheats, players will need to open the cheat console first. This can be done by pressing ‘Ctrl+Shift+C.’
- Following this, type ‘testingcheats on’ in the text box to activate cheats.
- Once cheats are enabled, type ‘remove_career (job title)' and press enter.
