- The game features gender discrimination, child abuse, torture, and more.
- Konami has warned players to take a break from playing or talk to someone they trust if they feel uncomfortable while playing.
Konami has detailed the grisly and disturbing content that players will have to endure when they play the upcoming Silent Hill f. First revealed in 2022, Silent Hill fans have been waiting anxiously for more information about Silent Hill f, which marks the first completely new main series release in the franchise since Silent Hill: Downpour in 2012.
Not much was revealed about Silent Hill f when it was first announced to the public, but a ton of information was released about the game during the latest Silent Hill Transmission event. That event pulled the curtain back on Silent Hill f's story, 1960s Japanese setting, and protagonist Hinako Shimizu. After the runaway success that was the Silent Hill 2 remake, expectations are high for Silent Hill f, though fans still don't know when they will get to play it.
Silent Hill f - Reveal Trailer
Konami reveals Silent Hill f, the latest entry in the long running horror franchise and launching for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Shortly after releasing the new Silent Hill f trailer, Konami launched an official website for the game that has more detailed information (as spotted by Dexerto). The site contains a warning about the content that will be in Silent Hill f, stating that the game "contains depictions of gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture, and graphic violence." Konami added that Silent Hill f is set in Japan in the 1960s and "contains depictions based on the customs and culture of that time," but does not necessarily reflect the opinions or values of the developers. "If you feel uncomfortable at any point while playing, please take a break from playing or speak to someone you trust."
Konami Has a Warning About Silent Hill f
The Silent Hill franchise has never shied away from tackling serious subject matter, and it looks like fans don't have to worry about that changing with Silent Hill f. With Silent Hill f being written by Ryukishi07, there have always been high expectations for the story, and it looks like the game may very well deliver on that front.
If you feel uncomfortable at any point while playing, please take a break from playing or speak to someone you trust.
For those who may be unfamiliar with the game's plot, the same website with the graphic content warning explains that Silent Hill f is set in the Japanese town of Ebisugaoka, which finds itself shrouded in a mysterious fog. Silent Hill f protagonist Hinako has to navigate through the town, fighting off monsters and solving puzzles in typical Silent Hill fashion. The game is not set in the literal town of Silent Hill, which is a risky move, but could very well be one that pays off. No release date for Silent Hill f has been announced, but hopefully more information on that front comes sooner rather than later.
