Konami's psychological horror masterpiece Silent Hill 2, a survival horror game that's arguably still unmatched, is finally getting a remake about 23 years after its original PS2 release in 2001. The Silent Hill 2 remake follows the same story as the original, where James Sunderland, a widower, receives a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary, inviting him to the eerie town of Silent Hill.

While it stays true to the original’s core elements, Silent Hill 2 (2024) features new locations and buildings, updated graphics, revised combat, and an over-the-shoulder camera, which puts you closer to what James sees. How to Play Silent Hill 2 Remake Early

The Silent Hill 2 remake is set for release on October 8, 2024, but those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition can enjoy playing the game on October 6, 2024, two days before its official release.

Of course, players will need to pay a little extra to play the Silent Hill 2 remake early. The Silent Hill 2 (2024) Deluxe Edition costs $10 more than the Standard Edition on the PlayStation Store and Steam.

Silent Hill 2 Available Platforms

At launch, the Silent Hill 2 remake is initially exclusive to PS5 and PC, which is pretty disappointing for Xbox gamers. However, many fans remain hopeful that it will eventually be released on Xbox as well. The fact that the original Silent Hill 2 was ported to Xbox in 2012 gives them reason to believe, but there's no official confirmation of an Xbox release for the remake yet.
