The generator in the Witness Room of Toluca Prison's Serpent Section is simpler than it looks, and players can find the easy solution to this Death Row puzzle in Silent Hill 2 below. Be warned, activating the generator will cause a riot of enemies, so it's best to use the save function found in the Witness Room.

How to Solve the Generator Puzzle in Silent Hill 2

As players make their way into the Serpent Section of the Toluca Prison, indicated by the Death Row Map, players can head through to the Witness Room where a generator will be placed on the wall next to a locked door. Players are tasked with overcharging the Witness Room generator into the red zone, and they have a total of six dials that need to be flipped in a specific order before they activate the lever.

From left to right, there are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Now players on Standard must flip these switches in the following order:

6th
4th
5th
1st
3rd
2nd

For those with their Puzzle Difficulty set to Hard, there will be 7 switches, so do them in this order instead:

4th
5th
2nd
1st
3rd
6th
7th

Hitting these switches in order should place the dial into the red zone, and now all players need to do is activate the lever on the right. If players accidentally flip the wrong switch, then feel free to activate the lever to reset the puzzle. Once the lever has been activated, an alarm will sound throughout the Serpent Section, and all enemies inside the area will enter into a frenzy.

It's best to run through the Death Chamber and pick up the Medium Weight that sits on the electric chair, and then head out of the dangers of Death Row back into the Toluca Prison 1F Main Section.
