Bloober Team has crafted a wonderful and faithful remake of Silent Hill 2. They faithfully honor the memory of the original by featuring 26 Glimpses of the Past. Each Glimpses of the Past offers a distinct callback to the original Silent Hill 2, and players can witness all 26 of them in one playthrough to obtain the Echoes trophy for their collectibles shelf.

Glimpses of the Past can be a tad obscure for players who don’t know where to look, so with every Glimpse of the Past location listed below, players will be able to see all 26 of them throughout their playthrough to ensure another trophy reaches the collection.
South Vale (East) – All Glimpses of the Past
Glimpses of the Past #1
After passing Silent Hill Ranch, head towards the blocked tunnel surrounded by wooden planks and metal pipes. The center activates a prompt to access the first Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #2
After the Flower Shop and when James spots the monster in the fog, players need to follow to the right side of the road by Vachss Road on their map, where there will be a “Do Not Enter” sign on a metal gate, which activates the second Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #3
After acquiring the radio and fighting the first enemy, leave the building and take an immediate right to a fenced and bloody garden, where interacting with the blood splatter provides the third Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #4
To the right of the entrance of the Wood Side Apartments on Katz Street, players can interact with the dumpster to trigger their fourth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #5
Follow to the end of Katz Street to find the wall covered in white cloth. Near the center of the cloth there is a small gap that can be interacted with to trigger the fifth Glimpse of the Past.
Wood Side Apartments – All Glimpses of the Past

After using the 2F Hallway Key, players will need to access Room 213 where there will be scratches on the wall in the bedroom. Interacting with the scratches triggers the sixth Glimpse of the Past.
Blue Creek Apartments – All Glimpses of the Past

After using the Winged Key to unlock a door with a big hole that needs to be jumped in, players will end up in Room 110 of Blue Creek Apartments 1F. Within Room 110 is a rotted piece of furniture that can be interacted with for the seventh Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #8
Once the Clock Puzzle in Room 212 has been completed, players can head to the staircase where at the top there should be the corpse of a Lying Figure enemy. Interacting with the enemy corpse triggers the eighth Glimpse of the Past.
South Vale (West) – All Glimpses of the Past

After meeting Maria and heading through Rosewater Park, players will be in South Vale (West). They will then want to head up through Nathan Avenue to reach Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama. Take a left down Carroll Street and between the two buildings is a staircase that will activate the ninth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #10
Head inside Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama and enter the bowling lanes. On the left of the lanes are a pizza box and some crusts, which can be interacted with for the tenth Glimpse of the Past and the Leftovers trophy.
Brookhaven Hospital – All Glimpses of the Past

Once players have access to Brookhaven Hospital 2F, they will want to enter the Laundry Room where a filled trash can to the left of a desk with a typewriter can be interacted with to trigger the eleventh Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #12
Head left from the Director’s Office in Brookhaven Hospital 2F and enter Room M1. Inside there will be a hospital bed with a rusted chain in the middle. Interact with the bed to trigger the twelfth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #13
Now that players have access to Brookhaven Hospital 1F, they will need to head into the bottom left corner of the Medical Records room, where a typewriter holds the thirteenth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #14
After solving the Director’s Office safe puzzle, players will have access to the Rooftop up the stairs of floor 3F. Once on the r ooftop, keep to the right walkway and interact with the railing that looks out to a broken metal fence. This will be the fourteenth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #15
After an interaction with Pyramid Head on the Rooftop, players have a new area to explore in Brookhaven Hospital 3F. Players need to access the I3 Room, where a blood splatter on the padded walls will trigger the fifteenth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #16
Within the Otherworld version of Brookhaven Hospital 2F, players will want to head down (South) from the Chained Box and enter the Restroom. Use the metal cart to access Room L1 and then follow the corridor to reach Room M4, where a hole in the wall allows them to access Room M5. Inside Room M5 is a pair of handprints on the wall which can trigger the sixteenth Glimpse of the Past.

Progressing through the Otherworld’s version of South Vale, players will want to keep an eye out for when they enter the East Side of South Vale, as inside Neely’s Bar will be a bloody map that can be interacted with for the seventeenth Glimpse of the Past.
Toluca Prison – All Glimpses of the Past

Once players enter the Canteen section of Toluca Prison straight from the use of the Spiral-writing Key, they will want to immediately turn right to interact with a wooden slab on a table to trigger the eighteenth Glimpse of the Past. This can be done before the cutscene with Eddie.
Glimpses of the Past #19
Head into the Toluca Prison 1F Main Section and access Cell A3 in Block A, where there will be a religious shrine on a shelf that can be interacted with for the nineteenth Glimpse of the Past.

Silent Hill 2's Toluca Prison section harbors a great deal of secrets, and if players are to uncover them, they will need to balance the scales.
Glimpses of the Past #20
Upon accessing the Hornless Ox door and venturing through Toluca Prison 2F, players will find themselves through the Toilets and into the Showers. Within the Showers, follow the wall to the right until a rag and a wooden slab are located. This is the twentieth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #21
When the Eyeless Boar door has been accessed, head through Toluca Prison 1F’s Boar Section and go past the Break Room to the bottom left of the map, opposite the staircase. Players will find a hatch on the floor with a horseshoe which can be interacted with for the twenty-first Glimpse of the Past.

Once players make it into the Rotten Area, they will want to head into the room with the Suspended Cage. Check the map and head to the left door, then take an immediate right to destroy the breakable wall. Inside the wall is a square room with a noose and a rope which can be examined for the twenty-second Glimpse of the Past.
Lakeview Hotel – All Glimpses of the Past

Upon reaching the Lakeview Hotel, head up the stairs to the right of the garden where there will be a fountain with a statue of a fish. Inside the fountain’s bowl is an interactive item that can be selected to trigger the twenty-third Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #24
Once players have accessed the western wing of the Lakeview Hotel 2F area, they will want to head inside Room 212 where there will be an open suitcase. Interacting with the suitcase activates the twenty-fourth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #25
After reaching the Employee Section of Lakeview Hotel 1F by acquiring the Employee Elevator Key, players will want to head into the Pantry to the left of the Break Room where on a shelf they can find the twenty-fifth Glimpse of the Past.
Glimpses of the Past #26
The final Glimpse of the Past is located after James watches the videotape in Room 312 and enters the Otherworld version of the hotel. Heading down the hotel, James can reach the Restroom to then access the Reading Room, where a tape recorder sits on a couch that will trigger the twenty-sixth Glimpse of the Past. Doing so should trigger the Echoes trophy which requires players to witness all glimpses of the past in a single playthrough.
