Bloober Team has shared an exciting update on how its Silent Hill 1 remake is progressing. Following the success of Bloober's Silent Hill 2 remake, fans have been highly expectant and curious about whether it can replicate that success remaking the original Silent Hill.

The Case for and Against Bloober’s Silent Hill Remake Being Longer Than the Original

After years of dormancy, Silent Hill is going through something of a renaissance. In addition to the successful Silent Hill 2 remake, the recently-released Silent Hill f has seen a great deal of praise as the newest original story, and a new movie adaptation of Silent Hill 2 will be releasing in the near future. The upcoming remake of Silent Hill 1, however, has seen particular attention from the community, as the original game has never had a remake or remaster, aside from reimaginings like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

Silent Hill 1 Gets Positive Progress Report

Now, the developer behind the Silent Hill 2 remake and upcoming Silent Hill 1 remake, Bloober Team, has issued an update regarding its progress. The news came by way of a Q&A session with investors, where Bloober touched on the various projects it has planned for the future. With regard to Silent Hill 1, the game has now officially entered full production, with one of Bloober's two full-party teams completely dedicated to just the one game. Another team is currently working on an unannounced game, with no indication whether it will be a partnership with another company like Konami, or one of Bloober Team's original projects.

Silent hill 1 The Order Cult Opportunity to Improve

Though Silent Hill fans are likely very eager to learn more about the game, it could be quite a while yet before Bloober Team is ready to reveal anything to the public. The Silent Hill 2 remake was in development for five years before it reached players, with two years' development time passing before an official announcement was even made. However, it's likely that Bloober Team has learned a lot from the experience and may be able to reutilize some assets from its first remake, so it might not take quite as long this time.

It will be interesting to see how the series progresses past this point. Fans were understandably cautious at the notion of a brand-new story set in historical Japan being added to the Silent Hill franchise, but the risk seems to have paid off with Silent Hill f. Players may be able to expect a Silent Hill 3 remake someday, providing that the first game's remake is successful. However, the day that a Silent Hill 3 remake or a brand-new game get announced may still be far in the future.
