If anyone's curious whether Shroud is having fun streaming on Mixer, a new advertisement should clear up the matter. Shroud starred in a new advertisement for Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft's monthly subscription service that grants subscribers access to a huge library of great games. The advertisement goes all out to make Shroud and Xbox Game Pass look cool, or at least that's what it wants people to think.

The advertisement starts off like an Axe Body Spray commercial, as in it's rather absurd. Shroud's tied up to a hang-glider along with his PC with a green screen background. It then shows that he's got a beaver strapped to his chest, which he feeds. It's intended to be over the top and eye-rolly to set up the next part of the commercial.

Instead of silly but fun Axe Body Spray commercial, it's a dissection of that type of commercial. The video cuts back to show the actual wiring holding Shroud up, as well as the extras in green suits helping to make the hang-gliding scene more realistic. Shroud finally says, "Can we just show the games?"

The commercial then cuts to show gameplay from several different titles available on Xbox Game Pass. Games like Forza Horizon 4, Gears Tactics, Final Fantasy 15, Yakuza 0, Ori and the Will of the Wisp, and even the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons are shown. It's a lineup of some of Game Pass' most popular titles, though funnily enough Shroud isn't known for playing any of them.

As the commercial ends, a short ad telling viewers to check out Xbox Game Pass for PC is shown, followed by an ad for Shroud's Mixer account. Altogether it's a charming and well-done video that puts Shroud in a fun light and shows off some great games in the process.

When Shroud first signed his contract with Mixer, many were curious whether he'd end up doing more marketing for the company. Both he and Ninja seem to have been given a lot of freedom to stream what they want and otherwise be uninvolved in Xbox's marketing, though. This commercial must have been something additional, a special occasion that Shroud decided to take part in. Who knows what Shroud will show up in next?

Xbox Game Pass is available now on both Xbox One and PC
