The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is filled with quests in every city, some of which might provide the player with a choice, giving multiple outcomes to the quest as well as different rewards. One such quest is the Two Sides of the Coin quest.
Oblivion Remastered: Fastest Leveling Methods
To level up fast, Oblivion Remastered players must raise their highest-level Skills, including both Major and Minor Skills.
For players to start the quest, they must first head to the city of Bruma and talk to almost all of the guards and NPCs roaming around for rumors. This might prompt one of them to tell players about Arnora, after which they can grab the quest. This guide offers a step-by-step walkthrough on the quest and rewards for completing it in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Two Sides Of The Coin Quest Walkthrough In Oblivion Remastered
After hearing a rumor about Arnora and her boyfriend, make your way south of Bruma to Arnora’s house. Inside, speak with her about the stolen gold, and she’ll explain her side of the story—how Jorundr killed a guard and hid the gold somewhere only he knows.
She’ll then ask you to visit the Castle Dungeons and convince Jorundr to reveal the location of the hidden treasure. After your chat, follow the quest marker into the Castle’s Great Hall, then take the first right into the Barracks and turn left into the Basement.
Head down the stairs and you’ll find a guard seated outside the jail. You can try talking to Jorundr from outside the cell, but he won’t trust you, thinking you’re working with the guards. The best way forward is to steal the quill or ink on the table near the guard, prompting him to arrest you. Choose to go to jail, and you’ll end up in Jorundr’s cell. Now that you're cellmates, he’ll trust you and reveal that it was actually Arnora who killed the guard and set him up. He’ll ask you to kill her and bring back her jeweled necklace to prove it, promising to share the treasure’s location once he sees proof.
Do remember that if you have any stolen items on you when you’re caught, they’ll be confiscated and you won’t get them back. It’s best to store them safely, preferably in a chest inside any guild within the city.
After the conversation, sleep on the bed to serve your time. Once released, return to Arnora’s house and talk to her again. She’ll suggest a different plan—take the necklace to Jorundr and pretend she’s dead. Doing so will get you the treasure location while allowing the two of you to split the gold.

Should You Help Arnora or Jorundr In Oblivion Remastered
Siding With Jorundr In Oblivion Remastered
Now you will get an option to choose whose plan you want to follow. If you decide to go with Jorundr’s plan, Arnora will immediately become hostile, and this can be a tough fight, especially if you came here directly after leaving the Sewers. After defeating her, loot her body to find an Amulet and a Chest Key that opens the chest located behind her bed downstairs. Open the chest to find the real necklace, which you can take, and then head back to Jorundr.
This time, you won’t need to enter jail again. Simply lockpick the outer jail door, turn left toward Jorundr’s cell, and talk to him from the outside. Your character will show him the necklace, proving Arnora’s death. Jorundr will then tell you where the stolen gold is hidden—near a cluster of rocks just outside Bruma’s northern gate. Head to the quest marker and locate the chest to claim your reward, thus completing the quest.
Siding With Arnora In Oblivion Remastered
If you side with Arnora, she will hand you the chest key, allowing you to unlock the chest downstairs and retrieve the Amulet. Take it to Jorundr, and he’ll be pleased with the outcome, believing Arnora is dead. He will then reveal the location of the gold, prompting you to leave Bruma and head outside the northern gate to where the treasure is hidden.
However, upon reaching the spot, you’ll be ambushed by Tyrelius Logellus, who overheard your conversation with Jorundr. He has already dealt with Arnora and now wants to kill you to take the gold for himself. Defeat him in battle, then loot the gold from the chest. Afterward, return to Arnora’s house, where you’ll discover her fate—bringing the quest to a close.
