There are a whopping 55 Oboro Relics to find and collect in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, and you will not be able to get most of them on your first playthrough of a level.
Most stages will have five Relics, with some being unaccessible until you get certain traversal abilities for Joe. You'll use the Relics at the shopkeeper to unlock more items for sale; this includes Amulets, attacks, upgrades, special items, keys, and outfits.
Since some of these Oboro Relics can be tricky to locate, this handy-dandy guide will cover all of their locations in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance.
Indie Games That Became Major Success Stories
Though most only see a modest amount of success, some indie games have etched their way into video game history by becoming must-have titles.
All Oboro Relics in Oboro Village in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
Oboro Relic #1
You will not be able to get this relic until you get the Sword Dive Ningi later in the Submarine Base stage. Once you have it, return to the Village Ruins checkpoint, head left, and then you'll see the chest underneath a green Yokai barrier.
Oboro Relic #2
After passing the Antechamber checkpoint, keep heading right and go on the lower-right path to find some enemies and a chest containing an Oboro Relic.
Oboro Relic #3
Once you have the Sword Dive Ningi from a later stage, teleport to the Attic checkpoint. Head to the lowest part of this area to find a green Yokai barrier. This will lead you to the Ankou Rift. Head left of the rift to find a chest with the Oboro Relic.
Oboro Relic #4
From the Collapsed Bridge checkpoint, head into the room on the right and make your way to the following area with a locked door. Slide underneath the locked door to fight some enemies and then hit the switch to open it. Continue upwards until you reach a room with a big, fiery cauldron in the middle. Walk left to find a chest on top of a platform. You should be able to double jump to reach the side of the wall and then pull yourself up to the chest.
Oboro Relic #5
Shortly after unlocking the gate that leads outside after getting the fourth Relic, you can find a chest on the main path on the ground.
All Lantern Festival Oboro Relics in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
Oboro Relic #1
After passing the boat segment, jump on top of the roof instead of walking down the path to find a hidden chest behind a tree.
Oboro Relic #2
After passing the Tower checkpoint, continue to find one of those annoying enemies that throw axes. Right above him is a secret chest with the Oboro Relic.
Oboro Relic #3
After grabbing the previous Relic, head to a path on the left to reach a combat segment with a chest as a reward.
Oboro Relic #4
After learning the Cannon Punch, break the glowing, cracked Yokai wall, and then go to the above platform to find a chest with the fourth Relic of the stage.
Oboro Relic #5
Once you reach the third paper lantern after passing the Fireworks checkpoint, go down a bit instead of going up to find an enemy guarding a treasure chest with the last Oboro Relic.
All Oboro Relics in The Mountain in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
Oboro Relic #1
You must reach the optional Mountain Peak checkpoint to find the first Oboro Relic. Start at the Waterfalls checkpoint and then make your way through the critical path until you get to the entrance of the facility. Instead of going inside, head up and follow the path to find a wall you can use your Ninja Claws on.
Oboro Relic #2
Once you climb up the path after the Waterfalls checkpoint, you'll see the chest to the left that appears inaccessible. To reach it, just go up, left, and then down to find a side entryway.
Oboro Relic #3
After getting the Ninja Claws ability, return to the Secret Factory checkpoint and head up and then left to find a chest with the Relic.
Oboro Relic #4
Once you pass the Junkyard checkpoint, there will be a segment where sharp gears will shoot at you, and you have to outrun them. When you run away from the last one, head back to the left where it came from to find a chest.
Oboro Relic #5
Fast travel to the Excavation Site checkpoint once you have access to the Ninja Claws and the Ninja Hook (Neo City). Make your way into the optional area above the Shop and you'll find the fifth relic.
All Oboro Relics in Neo City in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
Fast travel to the East District checkpoint, making your way to the right and then going up and left. You will find a green Yokai barrier that can be broken with the Sword Dive move from the Submarine Base.
Second Oboro Relic
Fast travel to the East District checkpoint once you have the Ninja Hook. Head to the right, then down, and then left to find the chest.
Third Oboro Relic
Teleport to the South District checkpoint (you will need the Sword Dive from the Submarine Base and the Ninja Hook for this one). Head into the area on the right, and you will see a green Yokai barrier that can be destroyed. You'll find a chest blocked by electricity, so you'll need to head below and to the left to find the switch to turn the power off.
Fourth Oboro Relic
From the West Entrance checkpoint, look up near the SEGA sign to see a blue point where you can use your Ninja Hook ability acquired later in the stage. You will enter an optional area on the left where you can find the Oboro Relic, an Ankou Rift, and a Shop. You will also need the Glider from the Desert level to reach the chest on the far left.
Fifth Oboro Relic
From the City Entrance checkpoint, head out to the right, past the shopkeeper, to find some platforms you can jump on to reach the final relic of the stage.
All Oboro Relics in Fish Market in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
Right when you enter the actual fish market, stand on top of the first blue truck on the path, and you'll see that the ceiling above you can be grabbed using your Ninja Claws ability.
Make your way to the right and then up to find a hidden area. Head left and then up and around to fight some enemies, and then you'll see the Oboro Relic in a chest.
Second Oboro Relic
Once you pass the Warehouse checkpoint, you will see a wall on the right before the exit that you can reach and grab using your Ninja Claws. Like the previous Relic, make your way left to find another wall to grab on to, head up, and then to the right to find some chests.
Third Oboro Relic
Stand next to the Octo Sign checkpoint, and you'll see a spinning octopus carrying platforms. Stand on one and let it carry you up. Jump up to the platform on the left, and you'll find a wall to use your Ninja Claws on. Head on the upper path, and it'll lead you to the collectible.
Fourth Relic
After passing the Storage checkpoint, you will get to a point where you need to jump onto moving shipping containers. Once you have to wall jump between two containers hung vertically, stand on the left one and let it raise you. You'll find a platform to your left; then, simply follow the path to the Relic.
Fifth Oboro Relic
Head to the Storage checkpoint area (above the Containers checkpoint). Head to the right, up, and then left to find the chest with the Relic.
All Submarine Base Oboro Relics in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
You'll need to push a yellow canister thing into a slot to activate the elevator. Before descending, look up and to the right to find a platform that'll take you to a chest.
Second Oboro Relic
After going down the elevator, pass the Floor B1 checkpoint, and then head to the left to find a switch you can hit to drop a red canister. Push it to the right so you can hop on it to reach the treasure.
Third Oboro Relic
On the left side of Floor B2, you'll need to push one of those fire canisters towards laser beams while fire shoots at you from above. You'll eventually reach a room on the critical path with a treasure chest behind some beams. Use your Ninja Claws to attach to the ceiling to find a crevice leading to a switch.
Fourth Oboro Relic
Fast travel to the Floor B3 checkpoint and then enter the path on the upper-right side of the room (you'll have to use the Ninja Claws on the wall on the left first). This will lead you to an optional area where you can find a chest containing the Oboro Relic. However, to reach it, you will need the Glider from the Desert stage first.
Fifth Oboro Relic
After draining the water underneath the Flooded Sector checkpoint, head into the room on the right to find a chest.
All Mad Train Oboro Relics in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
After passing the Aircraft Carrier checkpoint, you will see a green Yokai barrier on the main path (break it using your Sword Dive to find the first Relic).
Second Oboro Relic
After beating the robot past the Arachno Tank Carrier checkpoint, continue on the path and jump on the next cart to find a green Yokai barrier you can smash into. The chest with the Relic will be on the left side of the container.
Third Oboro Relic
Continue until you see two explosive crates blocking the entrance to one of the storage containers. Destroy the boxes and enter the container to find the third Oboro Relic.
Fourth Oboro Relic
Enter the container to the left of where you just got the third Oboro Relic to find a chest near a switch.
Fifth Oboro Relic
Once the helicopter starts chasing you, you will eventually reach some enemies, and then you'll get to a cart with a locked door. Head on top of the cart and go all the way to the end. You can enter the cart from its back entrance. Run through it to the left to find the last Oboro Relic on the stage. (This is before the Command Car checkpoint)
All Desert Oboro Relics in Shinobi Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
After going through a bit of the Dunes segment, you'll eventually reach a large chasm that leads to a shop. Head right and then down and around to find a chest containing the first Oboro Relic.
Second Oboro Relic
Head right of the Crevasse checkpoint to find a spot where you can wall jump up to a sectioned-off area. Destroy the Yokai barriers in your way, and you will eventually reach a treasure chest with the Relic.
Third Oboro Relic
Once you reach the Ruins checkpoint, head to the left and then follow the path down to eventually reach the Astral City checkpoint. From there, you will see a glowing purple barrier that needs to be shut off by reaching the top of this section and hitting a switch. Once you make it to the switch, drop down to the area right underneath you to find a chest.
Fourth Oboro Relic
Fast travel to the Astral Ruins checkpoint and then head into the optional purple area on the left. You'll need to use your Glider and smooth sailing skills to make it to the chest with the Relic.
Fifth Oboro Relic
After passing the Astral Ruins checkpoint towards the end of the stage, you'll find the chest containing the Oboro Relic on the critical path, just off on a ledge to the left after a wall jump section.
All ENE Corp Laboratory Oboro Relics in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
Once you pass the West Control Center checkpoint, you'll need to go to the room above it to break a machine. Before leaving, look to the top left to find a hidden chest with an Oboro Relic.
Second Oboro Relic
After you shut off the power in the West Control Center, head down and stay on the lower path to find one of the Elite Squads. Keep heading right to a tight corridor; once it splits into two, head right instead of up to find another Relic.
Third Oboro Relic
After you unlock all the doors in the facility, return to the Control Center checkpoint. There are two moving platforms here (one to the left and one to the right). Take the one on the right, and it'll lead you to a challenge room where you need to use your glider over some updrafts while avoiding lasers.
Fourth Oboro Relic
From the East Control Center checkpoint, head left and then down the moving platform. Now, run all the way to the left to find a chest with an Oboro Relic.
Fifth Oboro Relic
After passing the shopkeeper by the entrance, you will see a locked door and a chest behind it. Just jump on the nearby moving platform, head to the right, drop down, and then head left to find the chest near a tough enemy.
All Kaiju Oboro Relics in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
Go left past the Airway Entrance checkpoint, take the draft up with your glider, and then enter the room to the right to find a platforming challenge with a Relic as the reward.
Second Oboro Relic
From the Throat checkpoint, make a far jump and a dash to the right to find a grappling hook leading you to an area above. You'll find the chest on the path in the upper left area.
Third Oboro Relic
After passing the Lungs checkpoint, you will reach a second wind draft section, taking you up. Look to the left to find a hidden little area containing a chest.
Fourth Oboro Relic
Once you reach the Stomachs checkpoint, head to the path on the left to reach an optional area with a chest.
Fifth Oboro Relic
You can find this Relic in a chest to the left of the Second Stomach checkpoint. It's near one of the Elite Squad fights.
All Assault Oboro Relics in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
First Oboro Relic
You'll get to a section on the critical path before the Bunker checkpoint where a door will lock automatically, and enemies will jump you. Defeat them, and the first Oboro Relic will be yours for the taking.
Second Oboro Relic
After passing the Bunker checkpoint, you'll see some green Yokai barriers on some storage containers. In the second one, you'll find the Relic.
Third Oboro Relic
A little bit after passing the Siege Tower checkpoint, you'll find a green Yokai barrier you can use your Sword Dive on to find a secret area with a very tough platforming challenge that will reward you with the Oboro Relic and an Elite Squad fight.
Fourth Oboro Relic
After passing the Ruse's Castle checkpoint, you'll eventually reach some spinning fire obstacles. You'll see a tiny spot you can roll into on the left before using your Ninja Claws on a wall. (It's right underneath the Throne Room checkpoint).
Fifth Oboro Relic
Take the path to the right of the Throne Room checkpoint to drop into a different area --look to the left to find a chest with the relic.
