At the beginning of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, players can choose to name the protagonist whatever they want within the character limit. While the voiced dialogue won't say the name, your character's name will often appear when talking with the various humans in the game, aside from Aogami, who will continue to call you, "Young Man".
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance may not have any other media such as a spin-off game or anime as the Persona series does, but that doesn't mean the protagonist doesn't have a canon name players can choose to use. Players will be unable to change the protagonist's name after it has been decided, with the only way of changing it being to start a new game.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - 7 Best Early Game Miracles
Miracles are upgrades for the Nahobino that affect every aspect of gameplay and are central to making you stronger in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
What Is The Protagonist's Canon Name In Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance
The closest thing the protagonist has to a canon name is Kei Amemura, but this is only in the original Shin Megami Tensei 5. This name doesn't appear anywhere naturally, and can only be shown by a roundabout method of messing with the debug menu in the original game on the Switch to change languages back and forth to see what the game defaults to.
This method only worked in the original release of SMTV, as trying the same method on the Vengeance version of the game results in the game setting the character's name to, "Name Surname". While there is no Easter Egg or benefit to playing with the character's canon name, Kei Amemura continues to be the closest name players will get and can use in Vengeance.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - How To Respec
One of the major changes in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance from the base game is the ability to respec the Nahobino; here's how to do it.
What Is A Nahobino In Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance
Upon his first visit to the Netherworld, the protagonist is attacked by demons and fused with Aogami to become a Nahobino. A Nahobino is the result of a demon and a human fusing together to become a being of immense power and is currently something very uncommon in the world of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. The Nahobino will become your strongest demon both in the story and in the gameplay, depending on how you build him.
Theoretically, any demon and any human has the potential to become a Nahobino like the protagonist. The only issue is that not any demon can fuse with any human, with every human and demon having a counterpart, and the separation of the two worlds has kept any other fusions from happening up until the beginning events of the game.
