Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is a great game for any new players, or fans of the original game, Shin Megami Tensei 5. This game is a whole new experience, adding a ton of new content that makes it a step up from the original and a must-play for everyone.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - How To Recruit Demons
Recruiting new demons is a very important part of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. Here's how it works and what to keep in mind.
One thing Shin Megami Tensei 5 was good at was sidequests, and this game is no different, adding an array of sidequests and introducing new mechanics to the game. An interesting thing the player can now do is take control of their guide demon, in this case, Amanozako. Here’s how the player can complete this interesting quest from Dazai in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
How To Unlock the Infiltrate the Demon Feast Quest
“Ichiro wants you to borrow Amanozako's power to search an area where he thinks a human's been taken to.”
Infiltrate the Demon Feast Quest will be unlocked during the player’s exploration of the Shinagawa area of the game. Specifically, the player will have to run into Ichiro Dazai.
Note: this mission has a time limit on it If the player advances too far into the main story, this quest could become unavailable. So, it should be done as soon as possible.
The player will then speak to Ichiro Dazai, a character they should be more than familiar with by this point, especially players who played the original game Shin Megami Tensei 5.
He will inform the player that there is a location that neither he nor the Nahobino can access, but he suspects that demons are going to eat a human.
This is where the mission takes an interesting turn. He says the player should use Amanozako as she can go there. The player will be able to control and direct her at their will, making this a brand new game mechanic that was never seen before.
Controlling Amanozako
“In some quests, you will be given control of a demon while exploring a designated area. There will be no time limits during these explorations. If you see a demon or something unusual while exploring, you might find some information by checking it out.”
This quest will grant the player the ability to control their guide demon Amanozako to reach an area that is otherwise inaccessible. Amanozako is controlled as the player would otherwise control their main character. Amanozako, despite being able to fly, can’t go higher than where she is when the player takes control of her.
How to Complete the Infiltrating the Demon Feast Quest
Upon gaining control of Amanozako, the player will see that there are multiple demons with whom they can speak. Amanozako will learn that this is a "Girl-Demon-only" feast, where they will be eating a human boy.
The most notable thing Amanozako can spot, however, is a puddle of water. She should interact with it. Throwing some macca into it will do the trick. This will reveal a mermaid. She will tell Amanozako that she is here as a singer and that her song makes people fall asleep. This is important for later, and will come in handy.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Naamah and Glasya-Labolas Boss Fight Guide
The player has to fight two powerful enemies together - Naamah and Glasya-Labolas. Here's how to defeat them in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
She will also spot some blood on the ground, and up ahead will be the kitchen. However, three demons stand in her way and won’t allow her in.
To find a solution to that, Amanozako should head back to the puddle of water to speak with the mermaid. Amanozako will ask her to sing for those demons who stand in her way. This will cause them to fall asleep, allowing Amanozako to access the kitchen area.
Upon entering the kitchen, Amanozako will find a human boy on the ground, barely alive, with a demon standing over him.
The Final Fight
Amanozako will try to trick the demon by telling her she will lead her to more humans, in hopes that she will leave the boy alone. However, this demon kills the boy and then heads out after the others anyway. The player will have to fight this demon, specifically known as a Yakishini. The player should keep in mind that she has an electric weakness, and shouldn’t be too hard to defeat.
With that, the player completes the quest, although they were unsuccessful in saving the boy.
“You found the student but were unable to help him. After defeating the demon who chased Amanozako, you completed the request.
Ichiro learned from this failure, and swears he will work harder to be useful next time.”
Rewards for Completing the Infiltrating the Demon Feast Quest
Firstly, the player will, of course, like with any quest, gain some experience points. The player will also earn a physical dampener, which can block any physical attack on the player and their allies for one turn.
The player also receives a Segata III Game console, which can be sold for macca.
