Where To Find The Ancient Meteoric Greatsword In Shadow Of The Erdtee

Path from Castle Ensis to Ruined Forge of Starfall Past in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtee DLC

The Ancient Meteoric Greatsword is located inside the Ruined Forge of Starfall Past dungeon, which can be accessed after you make your way through Castle Ensis to Scadu Altus. At Castle Ensis, you must challenge and defeat the final boss, Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, standing in your way.

As you exit from Castle Ensis to Scadu Altus, travel north along the road until you find a fork in the road that takes you in the southeastern direction. Take this new road and continue traveling until you come across the Moorth Ruins site of grace.

From the Moorth Ruins site of grace, head southwest to discover a large ruined structure named Ruined Forge of Starfall Past. Circle your way around to the south of the structure to find a small break in the wall to enter the ruins.

Defeating Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, and passing through Castle Ensis can potentially disrupt the NPC Hornsent's questline. However, it will not cause the quest to fail. If you wish to see Hornsent's full quest through, you'll want to hold off on challenging Rellana, Twin Moon Knight right away.

Where Is The Ancient Meteoric Greatsword In The Ruins Of The Starfall Past

Once you’ve made it into the ruined structure and grabbed the site of grace, follow the outlined steps below to pull a series of levers and reach the forge that holds the coveted weapon:

  1. Start by heading southeast, staying on the bridge that connects the two platforms. The first lever is on the southeastern platform, which you must pull to lower a large iron gate to the east, unlocking a narrow passageway.
  2. Head through the passageway to reach another open area, and turn right to find another long, narrow passageway.
  3. In this passageway, you’ll see a Fire Tear drop from the ceiling. To its right is a ladder that you must climb to reach an open area swarming with enemies.
  4. As you enter this area, look for a narrow door on the elevated section, which can be reached by navigating through the rubble on the left.
  5. Passing through this door, you'll find yourself on top of an iron gate. Now, drop onto the narrow bridge to your east.
  6. Following this small bridge takes you to another lever. Pulling it lowers the iron gate to the north.
  7. Drop from the platform and look for another lever on the other side of the recently lowered iron gate. This lever is hidden between the eastern pillars.
  8. Pulling this lever raises the iron gate you just lowered. Pull the lever, and immediately hop back onto the raising gate to reach an elevated area to the west.
  9. A short distance to the west is the forge you’re looking for. Interact with it to acquire the legendary Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.

The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword is a strength-based weapon, but you also need Arcane to effectively use it. However, if you equip the Silver Tear Mask, it can increase your Arcane by +8, which should help compensate.

Since this colossal sword primarily scales with strength, it can be a punishing weapon when paired with strength builds.

The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword features a unique weapon skill called the White Light Charge, which is a two-input chaining attack. When you first hit the weapon art input, the weapon fills with light, and the character lunges at the enemy with a piercing attack. Hitting the weapon art input again causes the built-up light to explode, resulting in an area of effect damage.

The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword can be upgraded to level 10 using Somber Smithing Stones and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
