Wordle is a simple-to-learn but hard-to-master word puzzle game by the New York Times Games. This challenging little game gives players a new mystery word every day, and players have to start guessing without a single hint as to what the word could be. Here is a breakdown of all the rules for anyone who is new:

First, head to the New York Times Games site or the New York Times Crossword app. Next, choose a starting word. This word must be a five-letter English word and should have some common letters in it. Type the chosen word into the Wordle site with the on-screen keyboard or with the device's keyboard. Press enter. The letters of the chosen word will change colors, giving players some clues to the real answer.

If a letter becomes green, it is correct and in the right spot.
Letters that turn yellow are right but in the wrong place in the word.
Gray letters are incorrect and won't be in the final answer.

Players should use the clues to come up with another word to try; type that one into the site and get more clues from the colors of that one as well. Keep trying new words until all the six total tries are gone or until the word of the day is guessed. Words reset at midnight.
