Players don't have to journey alone in Sengoku Dynasty, and while the game is certainly fine for playing solo, the real joy of the game comes out when a team of players can play it together, building their own villages and making their mark on the map as a unit. This way of playing is available pretty early on in the game, though it does pose some issues.

Sengoku Dynasty - Straw
Sengoku Dynasty: How To Find Straw

Finding straw in Sengoku Dynasty is a weirdly vague process that has left many players scratching their head.

This is largely due to the game being vague (or flat out not explaining it at all). Even though it is available to play with friends, Sengoku Dynasty doesn't explain how this works very much at all. This means a lot of people are going to miss out on what is one of the best parts of the game. Luckily for everyone, this guide can help explain how players can play with their friends — and what they need to do in order to make this work.

How To Play Co-Op In Sengoku Dynasty

Sengoku Dynasty - Host a server

The first thing that needs to happen for people to play together is that one of the players has to be the host for the server. This could be a pre-made server that they've been playing on or a brand new one where everyone will start out from scratch.

To start this process, players need to go to the main menu and select the "Play in co-op" option. This takes them to a new screen where they can choose to host the server from an established one or a new one.

They can select whether the server is going to be public or private. If it is public, any player in the game can find it and join. If it's private, it will have a specific code that everyone else will need to use in order to join.

The private option is most likely going to be what groups of friends are going to go with. They must then share this passcode with the people they want to play with.

Sengoku Dynasty - Join a Game

These players will then need to go to "Play in co-op" and select the "Join" option. This will bring up a screen where they can enter that passcode. Doing so will take the player to the server with the host.

Every player looking to join the server needs to do this process and, eventually, everyone will be in it together. Each server can have a total of four players on it at a time, and they can help each other build their villages or liberate the regions from the clutches of enemies.

Co-Op Issues In Sengoku Dynasty

Players should be aware, however, that there have been some issues reported by players when it comes to playing co-op together. Here are a couple of things that been reported:

  • When one player goes to build, other players are locked out of building themselves or crafting their own tools.
  • Players are unable to host from their premade saved games.

Since the game is just now officially in its 1.0 release, it's very possible these bugs will be addressed quickly, since otherwise, things seem to be pretty stable now with its official release.
