Sell Cooked Meat & Fish To Level Up Hunter's Call
One of the easiest ways to begin your Hunter's Call journey is to sell cooked meat and fish. If you're sailing on a Captained Ship, you can buy Meat Provisions for 1,725 Gold from any Sea of Thieves outpost, which includes four pieces of raw chicken, snake, pork, and three pieces of shark. Although you can also hunt animals like pigs and chickens in the wild, buying meat supplies from different outposts is much quicker.
Of course, you'll need to cook meat before you can sell it to the Hunter's Call, which you can do using the dual cooking stove on your ship, using any campfire, or the quadruple pans at a Sea Fort for more efficiency. While the Reputation gains for selling meat are fairly minimal, it's a good starting point, especially for earning Cooking Commendations.
While you'll only encounter a Megalodon or Kraken by chance, which drop meat when defeated, you can find Meg or Kraken meat randomly in barrels while exploring the open world, such as among floating treasure.
Of course, selling cooked, rare fish to the Hunter's Call also offers significantly more Reputation and Gold, such as Rare Trophy Fish like Trophy Wreckers and Trophy Shadow Stormfish, versus selling uncooked or more common fish varieties. In addition, the Hunter's Call also accepts any Treacherous Plunder you might fish up, like Old Boots.
Best Co-Op Open-World Games
Here are a variety of options for the best co-op games that can be experienced in an open world setting.
Search Shipwrecks For Mermaid Gems, Tridents, And Other Goodies
Of course, catching fish can be time-consuming. Fortunately, fishing isn't the only way of getting fish and leveling up the Hunter's Call in Sea of Thieves. While loot is random, searching inside Shipwrecks for hidden treasures is often a more efficient way to get fish and other items that you can sell to the Hunter's Call, including:
- Mermaid Gems
- Trident of Dark Tides
- The Horn of Fair Winds
- Cooked or uncooked meat or fish varieties inside storage barrels, including Meg and Kraken meat.
Shipwrecks typically spawn fairly regularly, so they are often a more reliable way of finding treasure like Mermaid Gems and Tridents instead of searching for other random spawns, like Cursed Mermaid Statues for Mermaid Gems. Additionally, selling valuable items like the Horn of Fair Winds offers bigger Reputation gains.
To find shipwrecks in Sea of Thieves, use your spyglass to look for groups of birds circling above shipwrecks or floating treasure. To reduce time searching, Pirate Legends can also find multiple shipwrecks in the first part of the Legend of the Veil voyage.
Search Siren Treasuries For Breath Of The Sea And Siren Gems
Another way to level up the Hunter's Call in Sea of Thieves is by finding and selling Breath of the Sea. You can get these mysterious treasures by finding Coral Message in Bottles, something that only spawns randomly in the world, such as among floating treasure, inside shipwrecks, or washed up on islands. These quests take you deep underwater to Siren Shrines or Treasuries, such as the Shrine of Hungering, leading to the Breath of the Sea as a final, high-value piece of loot.
There are several variants worth between 4,000-8,000 gold each and a significant Reputation boost with the Hunter's Call, so they are worth taking the extra time to grab. Siren Shrines and Treasuries are also a great place to find other loot you can sell to the Hunter's Call, including Tridents of Dark Tides and Siren Gems.
