The game follows the player character, who is a pirate, as they travel around an open world map and complete various voyages. Commendations are Sea of Thieves' equivalent of achievements or trophies. When a player does something that fulfills the specific requirements of a commendation, they will be rewarded one, just like an achievement would work. Sometimes, these may unlock titles or cosmetics that players can make use of. Other times, they may obtain Doubloons from completing them. This means that they are definitely something that players will want to make sure they are completing and keeping track of. That way, they can make the most of them.

There are a total of 16 Commendations that players can obtain in this expansion. Here's a list of them all and how to obtain them.

Commendation	How To Obtain It
Hired Help	Players need to purchase the Chef's Uniform.
Delayed in Transit	The Citizen of Melee's Missing Cargo must be delivered.
Prison Break	Free Otis.
Save the Clock Tower	The clock needs to be repaired and set to midnight.
