Sea of Stars is scoring highly with critics and is one of the most highly anticipated RPGs of 2023. It's a 2D HD throwback to the late SNES-era JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and PS1 JRPGs like Breath of Fire 4.
The game is set in the same universe as Sabotage Studio's The Messenger, a side-scrolling Metroidvania. However, as a prequel set thousands of years before the events of The Messenger, players won't need any prior knowledge of its predecessor. After years in development, fans can finally play Sea of Stars on August 29, 2023. Let's look at the expected launch times on the PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Release Time For Sea Of Stars
Sabotage Studios has not announced an official launch time for Sea of Stars yet, but the game has a simultaneous release on two platforms:
- Xbox Series X/S Eastern Standard Time - Midnight
- Xbox One Eastern Standard Time - Midnight
- Xbox Series X/S UK Time - 5 a.m.
- Xbox One UK Time - 5 a.m.
- PC via Steam Eastern Standard Time - Midnight
- PC via Steam UK Time - 5 a.m.
The Nintendo Switch and PlayStation platforms are unconfirmed, but with a simultaneous launch on the PC and the Xbox, Sea of Stars may be likely to release alongside them. However, fans should note that Nintendo's support pages for digital release times may vary with launches at 12 a.m. EST and 9 a.m. EST. Either way, JRPG fans will be playing Sea of Stars on launch day.
Is Sea Of Stars Available On PS Plus Premium And Xbox Game Pass?
Sea of Stars is launching during a busy time with triple-A RPGs Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3 launching on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, respectively. However, thanks to PlayStation Plus Premium and Xbox Game Pass, Sea of Stars gets a chance in the sunlight thanks to launching day one on both subscription services.
This is excellent news for fans and the studio, as one of the best-reviewed titles of 2023 deserves to be played across all platforms.
Sea of Stars is available August 29, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
