One of the most impressive games debuted at this week's Inside Xbox event was Bandai Namco's upcoming action RPG Scarlet Nexus. The title sees players taking the role of Yuito Sumeragi, the newest recruit to the Other Suppression Force (OSF), as they use psychokinetic powers to rid the world of a race of deranged mutants known as the Others. Previously, the game had only been confirmed for release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, with use of their unique "Smart Delivery" feature, however, Bandai Namco has now confirmed that Scarlet Nexus will also release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

While it is also releasing on the current generation of systems, Scarlet Nexus is one of the most anticipated titles to release on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Bandai Namco has promised that the title will make use of "high resolution and frame rate along with fully interactive real-time battles with dynamic animation" on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Scarlet Nexus apparently "combines years of game development experience with the excitement and creative freedom of the power behind the next generation of home console systems."

Bandai Namco has also stated that the game is being developed by a lot of the team behind Tales of Vesperia, one of the most beloved games in the Tales of franchise, and one that also saw a HD remaster last year. The game's visuals and combat also seem to share a lot in common with the works of Platinum Games, specifically the studio's 2019 Switch title Astral Chain. Scarlet Nexus is one of the first anime-styled games announced for release on the next generation of consoles and will utilize Unreal Engine 4, an engine used to power many of Bandai Namco's other action RPGs such as Code Vein and the upcoming Tales of Arise.

While the Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions of Scarlet Nexus will make use of the system's Smart Delivery feature, allowing players who purchase the Xbox One version to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version for free, it's unclear if the PS5 version will offer a similar deal. Those looking forward to Scarlet Nexus  will have to wait for Bandai Namco to offer some clarification in the future.

Scarlet Nexus is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
