On Monday, Bandai Namco revealed a free update being released for anime action-RPG Scarlet Nexus. Since launch, Bandai Namco has dropped two DLC packs for Scarlet Nexus, each accompanied by a free update. As expected, that new DLC has now been revealed. Introducing Scarlet Nexus' third and final DLC, the Brain Eater Pack. The third DLC for Scarlet Nexus may take some by surprise. The Brain Eater Pack includes the story chapter Episode Karen: Unknown History. This new chapter of Scarlet Nexus will explore the previously unrevealed side of antagonist Karen Travers. Players can likely expect the DLC to delve into Karen's relationships, either with his departed fiancée Alice Ichijo or his younger brother, Luka Travers. Perhaps it'll go down a different path, instead.RELATED: Scarlet Nexus Update Adds New Feature and Difficulty Setting Episode Karen: Unknown History, will offer up several new challenges for Scarlet Nexus players to overcome. Through the completion of these challenges, Scarlet Nexus players will unlock four entirely new cutscenes. All that Bandai Namco is willing to say about the cutscenes is that they take place in 1996 and that they'll recall a "lost history" that only Karen Travers is privy to. Bandai Namco encourages players to complete both Scarlet Nexus campaigns before playing this DLC, as it's spoiler-heavy and reveals the "true motive" behind Karen Travers' actions.

DLC 3 features more than just Episode Karen, of course. Scarlet Nexus players who purchase the DLC will also receive two new costume sets, the Guardian Attire Set based on Karen Travers' clothing and the Heir Attire Set which is inspired by the "ancient ethnic costumes" of Scarlet Nexus' world. Both costume sets unlock upon purchase of Scarlet Nexus' DLC 3.

Lastly, there's a bit more additional content included in DLC 3. First, the Shadow of the Recording mission has been added to the Vision Simulator. The enemy within is said to attack the player with an "onslaught" of entirely unfair attacks, but rewards rare attachments for an S-rank completion. There's also a new plug-in named the Status Ailment Resister will be available from the in-game shop.

Scarlet Nexus DLC 3: The Brain Eater Pack is available on all supported platforms now. Standalone, it'll cost Scarlet Nexus players $6.99, or it can be purchased as part of Scarlet Nexus' Season Pass for $19.99. This is the last of Scarlet Nexus' announced DLC plans, so those waiting for the full experience can now dive in.

Scarlet Nexus is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
