Upon landing in the new world, players will find themselves with just a handy pioneer tool and the ship they came in. To begin the adventure, pioneers will need to disassemble their ship to obtain the required crafting items to build their very first HUB Terminal. The HUB Terminal serves as the home base for pioneers, equipped with a crafting bench to build the beginner items needed for HUB Terminal upgrades.

Disassembling the ship is the easiest way to acquire the items required to build the HUB Terminal. Players can also venture out into the open space and use the tracker to find iron ore, but the ship is the fastest and safest way to get enough iron ore.

At first glance, the HUB Terminal won't have much to offer outside a platform to stand on and the beginning phase of crafting materials. Pioneers will have the recipe to craft Iron Ingot, Iron Plate, and Iron Rod, with all three recipes requiring a specific amount of iron ore. Amassing the correct number of these items is the next step in upgrading the HUB Terminal, which unlocks a major leap into the next few days of a pioneer's stay in their new world.

The onboarding phase is a routinely easy version of Satisfactory's upgrade feature, meant to teach new pioneers the way of the world and the importance of upgrading the HUB Terminal. While not mandatory to complete, new pioneers may want to explore this phase to get a feel for the procedure.

Most tiers have between three and five milestones to achieve, but the onboarding phase comes packed with six milestones and plenty of rewards to earn. These rewards will be automatically granted to players skipping this step without doing the work, but missing out on the tutorials could be detrimental in the long run.
