Level Infinite has officially announced Rust Mobile with a reveal cinematic trailer showcasing the game. Rust’s massively popular survival multiplayer experience is finally coming to mobile platforms, and players can already pre-register for it.
Rust was originally developed by Facepunch Studios and launched in early access in December 2013, with a full release on PC in February 2018. One of Rust’s most characteristic aspects is its punishing open world, where players spawn with almost no gear and need to start scavenging for resources. They can craft tools, build bases, and must fend off animals and other players within challenging procedurally generated biomes. Facepunch has consistently updated the game, with Rust even getting a major next-gen upgrade as well as new quality-of-life features, a revamped mission system, and more. Now, a mobile version of the popular survival game is on its way.

Developer Level Infinite has launched a cinematic trailer providing an overview of Rust Mobile. This adaptation of Rust’s challenging experience promises to stay true to the original game’s roots, with its iconic, ruthless PvP combat, base raiding mechanics, and open-world exploration, but with some innovations to provide flexibility for mobile users. The developer has promised a “fully explorable sandbox,” with the same unforgiving gameplay as the original.
Rust Mobile Officially Announced
Players can already pre-register for the game on rustmobile.com. A Rust Mobile hands-on demo will be available at gamescom 2025 in Cologne from August 20 to 24, where players won’t just be able to try out the game, but will also be able to get exclusive posters and merch. Moreover, the developer has noted that the mobile adaptation has evolved significantly since the tech test conducted earlier in 2025, so players can expect a much more rounded experience in Rust’s engaging open world.
Despite the time Rust has been on the market, its popularity doesn’t seem to fade. At the beginning of 2025, Rust set a new concurrent player record 11 years after its 2013 early access launch, reaching 262,284 active users on Steam. The game’s executive producer had thanked players and shared what was coming to the game in the following months. Rust’s latest update was released on July 3 and introduced a party system, team invite improvements, and snappable deployables, among other things.
Unfortunately for Rust fans on mobile platforms, the developer has not provided a release window, only saying that the game “is coming.” While gamers await more info on the game, Level Infinite promises that Rust Mobile “is just the beginning.”
