Temple Woods is where players start their exploration journey in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It is also where players learn how to collect, craft, and cook to ensure their survival in Ghornfell with the help of the Old Wise Man.
Just like all the RuneScape: Dragonwilds areas, players will find a lot of items to scavenge, enemies to defeat, and places to discover. Temple Woods Vault is one of those places players can explore to obtain Vault Shards, Rune Essences, and Vault Cores.

How To Clear Temple Woods’ Vault In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
Every Vault Core weighs 50 Kg, so make sure to have plenty of space before embarking on a Vault exploration.
To clear Temple Woods Vault in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players must locate three Core Vaults. The Vault is marked by a flag-like marker on the map and is located southeast of Temple Woods. To reach it, ping its location on the map in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, and follow the marker.
Vault Core #1
Upon entering the vault, take the western stairs down and defeat the Vault Guardian Sentinel lurking at the end of the hallway. Once defeated, enter the western room, defeat two Giant Rats, and claim the treasure chest beside the stairs.
Next, move down the hallway again to reach the next room. Inside, players will find three Vault Guardian Sentinels guarding another chest. Defeat them and collect the chest, then take the door at the corner of the room. Afterward, players should:
- Pass the firetrap.
- Dodge to reach the square in the middle of the spike traps.
- Do it again to reach the stairs.
- Move inside the room.
- Defeat the three RuneScape: Dragonwilds enemies inside.
- Collect the chest behind the pillar.
- Grab the first Vault Core.
Vault Core #2
Take the eastern door to move further down the Temple Woods’ Vault, then pass the trap sets to reach the next room. To the right, players will find two doors: one on ground level and one a level higher.
If players explore the lower-level floor, they will find a chest. However, if they use the Windstep Spell in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, they will reach the locked room and find the second Vault Core in Temple Woods Vault.
Vault Core #3
After collecting everything from the room upstairs, use the lever inside to open the gates and move north, then:
- Interact with the lever in the middle to open the gates and the locked door.
- Move downstairs toward the unlocked room in Temple Woods’ Vault.
- Defeat the Vault Overlord boss.
- Move inside.
- Collect the chest and the third and final Vault.
Each opened chest will have Rune Shards, Rune Essences, Runes, and crafting recipes in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
