Stormtouched Highlands is one of the player’s destinations during the Dragon Slayer Quest in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The mission will ask players to fetch a Dragon’s Tooth and Bloodwood Sap to craft a Challenge Horn, which can be used to summon Velgar.
However, players need to be careful when venturing into Stormtouched Highlands, since, as the name suggests, random lightning will strike down to hinder players' journey in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Players can avoid the strikes by using the dodging skill once they see or hear the lightning coming down. There's a hidden Vault in Stormtouched Highlands, which players can locate by going along a certain route.

How To Find Stormtouched Highlands Vault In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
To reach the Stormtouched Highlands’ Vault in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players need to locate the underground passage. The gate to the Vault is indeed marked on the map by a blue marker. However, the door is blocked by a hidden cave.
To find the Stormtouched Highlands Vault in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, first head to Fractured Plains after crossing the Whispering Swamp, then follow the western route to reach Stormtouched Highlands in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
Next, continue moving north until you locate a bridge with a cavern blocked by Thorny Vines. Use an Axe to chop down the vines and move inside with a Pickaxe in hand to clear the Stone Boulders next. Behind the cleared Boulders, players will locate the Stormtouched Highlands’ Vault gate.
Players must reach certain levels in Mining and Woodcutting to be able to remove the obstacles. After removing the obstacle, players can place a Lodestone outside the Vault’s entrance to access it more easily later.
How To Clear Stormtouched Highlands Vault In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
Vault Core #1
Upon entering the vault, enter the eastern door, then take the western door and defeat the Giant Rats inside. Climb the eastern stairs to arrive in the next room. Players will find a locked room, a bunch of traps, and a broken bridge inside.
To reach Stormtouched Highlands’ Vault locked room in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players must jump down to the rotating firetrap. Stand aside and apply the Windstep spell, then run toward the edge and jump toward the small crack in the wall. Once inside, collect the chest’s items and use the lever to unlock the gates.
Next, use the Windstep spell to reach the opposite side of the broken bridge, then walk to the end of it and collect the first Vault Core in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
Descend back to the platforms with the traps and bypass them to reach the northern platform. Upon arriving, head behind the broken northern wall and commune with the glowing statue to obtain the Dragonkin Mage Robe Legs recipe in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
Afterward, take the eastern door to reach the next room. Defeat the Vault Guardians inside and interact with the glowing statue to get the Dragonkin Mage Robes recipe. Then move toward the northern door. If players go left or right, they will get a chest, while the northern door will lead to a lever that will unlock one part of the boss door.

Vault Core #2
Now, take the western door, then:
- Descend the western stairs.
- Move west.
- Bypass the rotating firetrap.
- Turn east.
- Move upwards.
- Defeat the Vault Guardians.
- Collect the chest stashed behind the pillar.
- Move further down the same passage.
- Use the Pickaxe to break down the wall.
- Collect the second Vault Core and the chest behind the wall.
Next, go back to the chest location, but this time take the door beside it. Inspect the glowing statue inside the hallway to get the Dragonkin Mage Hood recipe and pass through the next set of traps to open the second part of the boss door.
It should be noted that players can take a shortcut from the Vault Core room toward the lever’s room, but be careful of the firetrap that could burn you down along the narrow pathway.
Vault Core #3
The third and last Vault Core is, as always, inside the boss room. To obtain it, defeat the Vault Overlord boss and the Vault Guardian inside the room, then collect it from the upper platform with the chest. Interacting with the glowing statue inside the boss room will also give players the Dragonbone Dagger recipe in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
