It's not surprising that a game called RuneScape: Dragonwilds would have systems that revolve around Runes. In Ashenfall, Runes are the source of magic, making them an important resource for players who wish to wield this mystical power. Thankfully, Ashenfall is filled with magic, making these Runes a common resource. Players can easily stock up on the Essences and convert them to usable stones. If the nearby Rune Essence Geyser is depleted, a small journey to the unknown will take players to another Geyser. Doing other chores until the Rune Essence respawn works fine too.
However, getting Rune Essence in RuneScape: Dragonwilds isn't the only thing players need to do to truly wield the magic in the land. It's also important to level up skills to unlock new abilities and resources. For example, it's impossible to get Earth, Fire, Nature, and Law Runes in RuneScape: Dragonwilds if players ignore their Runecrafting skill.
RuneScape Dragonwilds Best PC Settings
If you're struggling to run RuneScape Dragonwilds on PC, here are the best settings to optimize the game's performance and fix low FPS.
How To Get Rune Essence In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
To get a Rune Essence in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players must find a Rune Essence Geyser, a small hole in the ground with colored mist and floating rocks. There should be some Rune Essence rock on the ground that can be mined with a pickaxe. The Geyser also has some floating rocks that can be mined, albeit requiring an extra step.
To mine the floating Rune Essence, players can either knock the rock to the ground using a projectile attack (spell or arrow) or use the Rocksplosion spell. A projectile attack can be done using a staff or bow in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Meanwhile, the Rocksplosion spell unlocks at Mining Skill Lv 11, and costs 15 Earth Runes and 5 Fire Runes to cast.
How To Get Earth, Fire, Nature, and Law Runes In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
To get Runes in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, players must use the Rune Altar and craft it using Rune Essences; one Rune Essence grants 10 Rune stones.
In the beginning, you can only craft Air Rune and Astral Rune. To unlock the rest of the Rune recipes in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you simply need to level up the Runecrafting skill. You can do this by mining Rune Essence and crafting Runes.
Players can get Earth Rune in RuneScape: Dragonwilds after reaching Runecrafting level 11, Fire Rune after reaching Runecrafting level 13, Law Rune at level 16, and Nature Rune at level 18. Here's a full list of everything you unlock from the Runecrafting skill:
