Like any open-world survival game, you can construct a base in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. However, RuneScape: Dragonwilds takes it up a notch by requiring players to build a shelter for some items to be functional, like the beds. This makes it more realistic as players can only sleep soundly with proper walls and a roof, safe from winds and rain.
You can cut down trees and hoard tons of Ash Logs to build great constructions, or you can just slap four walls and two grounds to create a lazy shelter. Both function the same way; only one of them doesn’t need a lot of woodcutting in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

Armor and weapon created using leather is more studier and will generally last much longer in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
How To Build A Shelter In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
To build a shelter in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you need to build walls and a ceiling. Without them, the game wouldn’t consider that you have a shelter. Once you build the walls and put a ceiling above them, you can craft anything inside that requires a shelter, and it will function normally.
At the start, you won’t need a lot of space since you only need a Bed Roll and a Spinning Wheel in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. However, later on, you will start having more craftables that can only function inside a shelter, which means you need a bigger shelter to hold all those devices. That’s when the shelter’s foundation starts becoming important.
How To Build A Foundation
Foundation is important in RuneScape: Dragonwilds since it holds the entire building. Anything that touches the ground can be considered a foundation, and you can attach other buildings to it. For example, when your shelter can’t hold more construction, you can attach another building to the ground to expand the foundation.
For small shelters, it won’t be an issue constructing their walls and ceilings since there’s no heavy pressure on the foundation. However, once the shelter starts getting bigger and wider, you need to construct a strong foundation that can hold it. You’ll start to notice that what you’re trying to construct is unstable unless you attach another building to the ground that can support it.
Control Your Builds
Once you start building more, you’ll start leveling up your construction skills. Most of these skills unlock new building pieces and types of furniture, but some unlock new abilities that help make constructing less tedious. For example, at construction skill level 11, you’ll unlock the Eye of Oculus ability, which allows you to build in free mode without having to control your character. You can just fly around your construction as you check and expand it. At level 20, you’ll be able to summon a tent, which serves as a temporary shelter. It allows you to sleep and rest while away from the base, without having to return home.
