Players will come across a wide range of items like crafting materials, meat, and other ingredients while exploring the world of RuneScape Dragonwilds. However, keeping everything on your character isn't a great idea, as if you die, you'll need to go back and retrieve everything. This can be extremely daunting if you have lost everything in an area with high-level enemies. So, you can craft a storage crate at your base to store all your essential items in. Here's how to do it.

How to Unlock & Build a Storage Crate in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Players unlock the Storage Crate right after they complete the tutorial for RuneScape Dragonwilds. As soon as players start gathering Ash Logs and build a crafting station, it'll level up their construction XP and unlock the Storage Crate as a structure in the build menu.
Once the Storage Crate is unlocked, you'll need to have at least 10 Ash Logs to be able to craft it. Players can place the Storage Crate either inside or outside their base, as their items won't get stolen and will be safely stored. The Storage Crate has a 2x8 space, which means you can store up to 16 items in one. Since they're quite easy to make, you can build a bunch of them to store all kinds of items.
In the event of an ambush by goblins, if one of your Storage Crates happens to be between you and the attackers, it'll be destroyed. However, rest assured, your items will be dropped on the ground, ready to be picked up again.
How to Get More Storage Space
If the regular Storage Crate isn't enough for you and you require more space, you'll need to increase your construction XP to level 16 to unlock more storage structures. These include a Small Chest, a Large Chest, and a Weapon Rack. These have from double to triple the capacity of a regular Storage Crate. However, they'll require some of the more exotic materials in the RuneScape Dragonwilds to be built.
If you decide to move to another base, you'll need to manually transfer all your items in Storage Crates to the new location. However, you can use the Lodestone teleporter to quickly travel between the two bases with ease.
