How to Craft a Bone Pickaxe in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

The recipe for the Bone Pickaxe is unlocked by collecting an Animal Bone. Once players slay an animal like a Kebbit and pick up their first Animal Bone, they will unlock the ability to craft new gear like the Bone Pickaxe. All animals drop Animal Bones, so they're quite easy to stock up on.

Once the Bone Pickaxe crafting recipe is unlocked, players can build one at a Crafting Table with the following items:

8 Animal Bones
6 Ash Logs
4 Leather

Animal Bones and Ash Logs are easy enough to obtain, but Leather requires players to jump through a few extra hoops. Leather is crafted at a Tannery (also unlocked by collecting an Animal Bone) with either Animal Hide or Animal Hide Scraps. Only large animals drop Animal Hide, so cows and deer are the best sources. Players will need to craft a bow to hunt deer without scaring them off, but cows can be battled with melee weapons.

The Bone Pickaxe is a huge upgrade over the standard Stone Pickaxe for multiple reasons. Firstly, it can mine ore deposits and boulders much faster. The Stone Pickaxe takes forever to mine rarer resources like ores, wasting precious time and stamina. The Bone Pickaxe also has a higher durability rating, so it will last longer between repairs.

It's a super helpful tool for players looking to raise their Mining skill since it demolishes basic boulders in seconds. Sadly, there is no Bone Axe in RuneScape: Dragonwilds to match the Bone Pickaxe, so players will have to keep exploring to unlock an upgraded tree chopping tool.
