RuneScape: Dragonwilds has a few hidden secrets waiting to be discovered by attentive players, and among them, some Weapon Recipes can only be acquired by fulfilling certain conditions. The Goblin Swingslash is one of such weapons, and the location of its Recipe is a bit tricky to pinpoint.
RuneScape Dragonwilds - How To Craft Evasive Infusion
The Evasive Infusion will boost your chances of surviving the most difficult battles in RuneScape Dragonwilds. Learn how to craft it here.
But in this guide, players will find out about the easiest way to get this weapon early on, without having to move too much out of the Temple Woods Starter Zone. Let's take a look at how to trigger an encounter with the monster that can drop the recipe.
How To Get Goblin Swingslash Recipe In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
To get the Goblin Swingslash, players will need to travel to the Bramblemead Valley region (Tier 2) and clear out all the goblins present in the nearby Village Ruins (located next to the Wise Old Man's tower). Once players do that, they should talk to the Wise Old Man and start the Dragon Slayer Quest.
If players are having trouble dealing with the Warbands, they can create a defensive structure that attracts the horde and then use the Windstep Spell to jump over the structure and shoot the goblins using Staves or Bows. Ideally, players should concentrate their fire or even use the Rocksplosion spell on the goblin horde to reduce their numbers before jumping into a melee fight.
The first step to doing this is to build a shelter in the zone. Players should go ahead and settle in the zone, which will start attracting Warbands, which are Enemy Parties raiding the player's base. Goblins will be the first to approach (since the area is populated by them), but there's a catch: the first or second horde after clearing out a nearby camp will trigger an even bigger enemy assault.

This assault will be led by a Goblin Bruiser (Tier 2) Enemy. It will be too much for the players to handle, but if they have unlocked the Bow they can lead this enemy to the nearby tower and then jump around the broken platforms to safely shoot at him.
The Goblin Bruiser will be accompanied by dozens of other Goblin Warriors and Archers, and can be easily identified since he is the only one to carry a Wooden Board Shield with spikes, so players cannot miss it. Once defeated, there's a high chance for it to drop a Lore Piece, which, once read will unlock the recipe for the Goblin Swingslash, a Tier 2 hatchet with lots of stopping power, a 5-stage combo, and a mighty overhead swing as its special attack.
To craft it, players will need Ash Logs, Animal Bones, and Leather, which are quite easy to find in the early stages of the game. So, once players are able to fetch these mats, they will have one of the most powerful Tier 2 weapons to have a good head start on their early game.
