Right now, there are 16 romanceable characters who can become your in-game spouse if you choose them, and Hina is one of the female options. She's absolutely stunning, kind-hearted, and ambitious. This guide covers details about romancing Hina in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, including how to raise her bond level and which gifts she loves most.
10 Beginner Tips For Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma
Any players just starting Marvelous Inc.'s life-sim RPG Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma should look to these beginner tips to help them progress.
Hina's Profile Overview in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
- Birthday: Winter 16th
- Residence: Spring Village
Hina is a traveler who works alongside Mauro on missions to fight off evil creatures. She’s also a professional archaeologist. You first see her flying across Azuma’s skies in the airship after completing the “Finding the Weird Animal” and “Time to Rest” quests. When a dragon suddenly attacks the village, you step in to aid by suggesting they aim for the dragon’s horn to take it down.
Like all romanceable characters, you’ll need to raise your bond level and intimacy status before you can ask her out and eventually marry her. She’s usually seen with Mauro, visiting UIalaka at her shrine, or relaxing at Iroha’s Tea House in Spring Village. Her location is easy to track on the map.
How to Increase Bond with Hina in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
Initially, the only way to strengthen your relationship with Hina is by chatting with her regularly using the “Let’s Chat” option. But this method is slow and doesn’t raise your bond level very quickly. Once you wrap up the main story quest, “Checking on Takumi,” you’ll unlock the Party feature. This lets you take Hina along on your adventures and opens up new Hangout interactions. Here are some tips to improve your bond with her:
- Giving daily gifts is the fastest way to increase your bond with Hina. She has favorite items that boost your relationship more, so focus on those and avoid things she dislikes since they can hurt your bond. When her birthday comes up (check your calendar), you’ll get a “Celebrate Birthday” option under “Let’s Hangout.” Choose a special gift to make her day really memorable.
- The Hangout menu lets you start a discussion with her. Pick topics she loves to help your bond grow steadily (more on that below).
- You can also visit places like shrines, plains, and waterfalls through the same menu once you open the social nodes.
- Players can also include her in their Party to build a closer connection with Hina. To do so, click on the Instrument icon (Party) from the in-game menu and add her from there. Just make sure your relationship level with her is at least 1 before you try to invite her.
- Once your bond level reaches six, you’ll get the Cook Together option. Head to a cooking business like Iroha’s Tea House, choose a recipe, press “F” to select her, and then hit “Begin” to cook a meal together and upgrade your tie.
Tip: You can only hang out with Hina once per in-game day. So, if you’re trying to farm bond points faster, rest at the nearby Dragon Shrine to skip to the next day and meet her again.

How to Marry Hina in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
To marry Hina in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma, you'll need to hit bond level 10 and go on a few dates with her (ideally three). Dating, however, won’t be available right away. First, you must finish her bonding quests, gain some hearts on her profile, and tell her you love her.
Hina’s companion quests only show up after you arrive at the Winter Village, which is the fourth chapter of the game. Just keep following the main story to start receiving them. Here’s what they’re called:
- Childhood Memories
- Getting to Know Hina 1
- Nothing Beats Sweets
- Getting to Know Hina 2
- Off to the Underworld
- What Fascinates an Archaeologist
Once your intimacy stats are full (or at least four hearts), choose the "I Love You" option when talking to her. If she accepts (which she likely will in a few days), the dating option will unlock. After going on some dates, make sure you’ve heard Woolby’s marriage talk (if not, go chat with him), grab a Plum Branch, prepare some Divine Spirits, and ask Hina to come with you to the Fateweaver Shrine. That’s where the wedding happens. A few days after the ceremony, you’ll even be able to start a family with her if you talk to her again.
