Tom Holland's Spider-Man is a hit among MCU fans. Holland is set to don his Spider-Man suit again and lead his fourth solo Marvel movie. However, this time, his character Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, will face a female villain. Eager fans can't wait for the official announcement of who the big bad is in the anticipated MCU tentpole, so they have started speculating that it could be Black Cat, Silver Sable, Scorpio, or Calypso. It turned out that movie scoopers were as interested and some shared the latest news they had about the film.

MyTimeToShineHello, a movie insider, recently shared on X, formerly Twitter, that Spider-Man 4 will have a female main villain. Daniel Richtman of the Patreon reacted to the post with an artwork featuring Adriana Soria aka Spider-Queen, seemingly suggesting that she's the female villain in the anticipated movie. He also shared his theory in a separate post on X, saying it made sense to do Spider-Island with Secret Wars because Shang-Chi has a significant role in the plot. Shang-Chi fans have been calling the Marvel Studios to include him in Avengers because it has been many years since they last saw him and he hasn’t appeared in any MCU film. Also, there’s no concrete update about Shang-Chi 2. However, some were not convinced about Spider-Queen being the female main villain, while others believed she was an interesting choice because she was not that popular but played a significant role in Spider-Island. Some admitted that Spider-Queen didn't cross their minds when they heard about Spider-Man 4 featuring a female main villain, but she's not an illogical choice if they pursue her storyline.

On the other hand, journalist and entertainment scooper Jeff Sneider was also asked in the recent episode of The Hot Mic who the "SS" he mentioned would be the villain in Spider-Man 4. MyTimeToShineHello claimed in his tweet that it's not Stranger Things Sadie Sink, one of the actors whose casting has been announced recently. Sneider didn't drop the name, but teased that "there were a lot of good guesses." Instead of answering the question, Sneider shared clues, leaving fans to identify who the actress is. "The person I was thinking of was the most common response. If you check that thread, I think if that's a female villain, right, I can say that this actress is coming off a big show, so it makes sense that she's looking to level up, I think." ComicBookMovie speculated that the actress is Succession star Sarah Snook. She garnered widespread acclaim for portraying Siobhan "Shiv" Roy in the hit HBO series. Many lauded her for the depth and complexity of her character and how well she played the role, elevating her status in the entertainment industry. Sneider also claimed that Spider-Man 4 went after a big celebrity for the role – Anne Hathaway. However, the actress reportedly turned down the offer.

Spider-Queen makes a compelling female villain for Spider-Man 4 because of her unique blend of powers, including psychic abilities and biological horror, with a deep connection to spider lore. Spider-Queen taps into the mythos of humans evolving into spiders, as featured in the Spider-Island event, when ordinary citizens gain spider powers. It was a dilemma for Peter because he felt that he had lost his unique ability as a superhero because everybody else could do the same thing he did. The event could be a portal to explore Peter's powers on a deeper and more existential level. She can challenge Peter physically and psychologically. It remains unclear if the female big bad is Spider-Queen and if Snook is the one cast to play the female villain in Spider-Man 4. But if rumors are true, she will pull it off smoothly. Her Emmy-winning performance in Succession shows her versatility, showing that she can play an intelligent, manipulative, and emotionally layered character like Spider-Queen.
