Even though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to be a sales juggernaut for Activision and Infinity Ward, there's been a ton of rumors, speculation and leaks for what's next for the franchise. In years past, the reveal for the current year's game would have already happened, but the turbulent nature of the development cycle and the fact that there's a global pandemic have obviously changed things. While evidence seems to be pointing to a revival of the original Black Ops, a massive new leak has seemingly revealed even more about Call of Duty 2020.

The latest leak comes from the YouTuber known as XclusiveAce who indicated that the new information they've obtained comes from a source that originally showed him actual gameplay, images, map overviews, and more from the current build of Call of Duty 2020. No images or gameplay from the upcoming title is shown to prevent and the source isn't named but based on some of the things said in the video, such as the person not knowing the actual name of the game, it would seem to be someone involved in QA or testing.

The biggest piece of information presented in the trailer is that Call of Duty 2020 will have four game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies. Currently, the 10 expected Treyarch style multiplayer maps are nearing completion and the campaign is fully playable, but not all animations are fully finalized yet. Multiplayer features a mix of ideas from Modern Warfare and previous titles including bringing back the compass as well as the mini-map. Unlimited Sprint and being able to swim in water are also coming back. Specialists are apparently not coming back though a mechanic similar to field upgrades will be included.

Similarly to Black Ops 4, players will have 150 health and auto-healing will happen when out of combat. There won't be a Gunsmith mode like there is in Modern Warfare and the Create-a-Class system will be a hybrid model between the classic style and the Pick-10 system. Scorestreaks are also going to make their return in this latest game. Considering this game takes place in the Cold War era, the new Warzone map is expected to be located in Russia.

While the details seem reasonable, it's worth taking all of this with a grain of salt until Activision officially confirms it. In addition, the game is still being worked on so this information could change over the next few months. Unfortunately, the video was quickly made private, likely due to pressure from Activision over the details in the video.

To this point, Activision has been radio silent on the upcoming game, which numerous leaks have indicated will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There's also no indication as to when a proper announcement will be coming, with some reports hinting that it could be as far off as August. For Activision, there doesn't seem to be much of a rush as the company clearly doesn't want to risk cutting into the continued momentum and seasonal structure of the popularity of Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty 2020 is in development for unspecified platforms.
