Today we get a glimpse at the official gameplay trailer for Rock of the Dead coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wi i on October 5, 2010:

The game clearly has talent, good music, and a healthy dose of humor, and I think Conspiracy Entertainment is banking on the talent and gamers desire to slaughter zombies to sell this title.
There is no question that this is a unique concept, combining two wining formulas (zombie shooter and rhythm games) into one potentially epic package. It could also be a risky gamble, because you never know if gamers will love it or not.
I’m not going to lie, though the trailer made me laugh, and I smiled at having some of my favorite talent in one place, the game looked a little, uh, silly. Perhaps that is the point. It is supposed to be a tongue in cheek campy game, catering to a lower budget audience, and have a B movie style feel. But is it for me? I can’t answer that until I try it.
As much as I adore zombie shooters (like Left 4 Dead 2), FPS (such as Modern Warfare 2) and rhythm games (like R ock Band 2), I don’t know if this mashup will strike the right chord for me. Even with a killer soundtrack, good humor, and amazing voice actors, I look at this gameplay trailer and think; meh.
