Roblox is the 2006 virtual world that allows players to create and play a wide range of user-made games. Roblox is one of the best popular games for children and teens, but maintains a wide audience due to its ability to cater to all types of gamers. Because of this, the team behind Roblox is always finding new ways to improve the game and the overall player experience. With valuable insights from player surveys and communication through their devforum, Roblox developers look to take player input into account when designing new updates for the game. That is exactly the case with their latest update that features several adjustments to the game's experience controls.
Roblox Brings Back Headless Horseman for 2024, But Be Careful
Roblox announces the return of the popular Headless Horseman character for Halloween 2024, but players must be careful when purchasing.
Shared on their devforum and additionally posted on their Twitter, Roblox shared the latest changes coming to the in-experience controls. Roblox voice and text chat can now be directly accessed via a menu bar in the top left corner, giving players easier access to these chatting methods. Alongside that, the three dot menu has been ditched and is instead replaced with a hamburger menu that appears next to the chatting options and is home to a whole list of additional features and options. This update is currently live for PC and mobile players, with a console release slated for the future.
Re-Designed Controls in Roblox Make Important Features Easier to Access
Within this Roblox update, the developers added in some extra functionality within the newly added hamburger menu. Keeping safety a priority, the report abuse button now appears at the top of the list once the hamburger menu is expanded. Alongside that, additional in-experience controls such as self-view, leaderboard, capture, and emotes are now also available within that menu. The devs explained the goal behind the re-design is to streamline these controls while also creating a consistent experience across all platforms.
Although Roblox is currently available consoles, those users will have to wait a little longer for this update to go live. In the future, Roblox is planning to add in these re-designed controls for console and VR players alongside an update to the Roblox (escape) menu that streamlines it and improves its accessibility. While there is no official date for this, Roblox players can expect to see these changes in the future.
