With the release of the Animal Update for Roblox Grow a Garden, players can now buy eggs and hatch them into pets. These pets have their own traits, which can provide some benefits when growing your various crops and plants in your garden. You start out only being able to equip three pets and three eggs. This guide will explain how to increase pet and egg equip slots in Roblox Grow a Garden.
How to Increase Pet and Egg Equip Slots in Grow a Garden
More pet and egg equip slots can be obtained by trading pets with Raphael at the Pet Eggs Shop. This is the building with a yellow and white striped roof, located on the opposite end of the island from the Seeds and Sell stores.
Speak to Raphael and choose option #4, 'Show me pet info.' You'll now have three options to choose from:
- Egg Rarity: The blue egg icon
- Extra Pet Equip Slots: The yellow pet icon
- Extra Pet Egg Equip Slots: The green egg icon
Grow a Garden: Best Crops Tier List
Grow a Garden has lots of seeds, but only some are truly worth planting. Here’s a simple tier list breaking down the best and the worst ones.
To unlock more equip slots, select either the yellow or green icon, depending on which extra slot you want, and you'll be brought to a screen where you can trade in a pet for an extra equip slot. On the right-hand side of this screen, you'll see a vertical bar which indicates your progress in unlocking the five additional slots.
To purchase the first extra slot, you'll need to trade in a pet with a minimum age of 20. This needs to be in your inventory, so it's worth checking your garden and picking up any pets that meet the required age before making your way to the Pet Eggs Shop. If you have an eligible one in your inventory, it will appear in the dark brown box in the center of this screen. Select it, and then press the 'Trade in Selected Pet' button.
Each extra equip slot you unlock has a higher age requirement for the pet you need to trade. As such, you'll need to keep a pet's hunger bar full and have them work in your garden for longer to level them up to the required levels.
The process and requirements are the same for both the pet and pet egg equip slots, which keeps things nice and simple. However, it does mean you'll want to start leveling up a lot of pets quickly to quickly get all the extra slots available.
How to Level and Age Up Pets in Grow a Garden
Pets need to be fed to level up. When a pet's hunger bar is full, and they're working on your garden, they'll earn XP. As you continue to feed them and have them working on your garden, they'll age. This makes them get physically bigger and improves their traits, which makes them more valuable around your garden.
To view a pet's age, click on it when it's in your garden and select the 'View' option. Here, you can see a pet's name, age, weight, hunger, and trait. This is also where you'll see if a pet's trait has improved as it ages. The numbers within the trait description will change as it continues to get older.
