Grow a Garden gives you the chill experience of running your own little farm, where you can grow crops and even place animals, thanks to the animal update. It’s a cozy farming game, but not everything is fast-paced. As such, crops take real-time minutes or even hours to grow, which can make the gameplay feel a bit slow.
Some crops like Pumpkins, Cactuses, and Mushrooms take a bit to ripen, but nothing beats Coconut—it takes a full 11 hours in real-time to fully mature. Luckily, you can cut down some of that time by using gears. For those unsure, here's a rundown on how to get and use all gears in Grow a Garden.
Grow a Garden: All Crops (& How to Get Them)
Wondering how to get all the different fruit and veggie seeds for your garden in Grow a Garden? This guide has you covered.
All Gears in Grow a Garden, Explained
In Grow a Garden, gears are helpful tools that speed up plant growth and even increase the chances of getting mutations on your crops. Unlike seeds, there's no exclusive gear in the game, so free-to-play players can easily grab them whenever they’re available. Here’s how to get and use all the gears in Grow a Garden:
How to Get and Use a Watering Can in Grow a Garden
The Watering Can shortens the time it takes for your fruits and vegetables to get bigger. To grab one, head to the Gear Shop and buy it for 50,000 Sheckles.
This tool offers you 10 uses before it disappears. To use it, though, just equip it from your inventory and click on your desired plant. It also works on crops that produce multiple harvests, like Cursed Fruit and Grapes, helping their fruits appear faster after collecting them.
How to Get and Use a Trowel in Grow a Garden
The Trowel lets you move your plants around in Grow a Garden—perfect if you’re trying to make your farm look neat. Remember, it doesn't run on one-time plants. You can buy one from the Gear Shop for 100,000 Sheckles.
To use the Trowel, just hold it in your hands, click on the crop you want to move, and tap on the new spot to settle it there. It works five times, so you’ll need to grab another after that.
How to Get and Use a Shovel in Grow a Garden
Unlike the Trowel, the Shovel is used to destroy plants from your farm, which means they’re gone for good. It’s one of the first tools you get in the game, and it’s free and already sitting in your inventory.
To use the Shovel, pick it up from your backpack, then hit on the crop you want to remove. If it's a rare or top-tier plant, the game sends you a warning first.
How to Get and Use Sprinklers in Grow a Garden
There are four sprinklers in Grow a Garden, all purchasable from the Gear Shop when in stock. Each one provides better perks depending on how rare and useful they are. Here’s what they do:
- Basic Sprinkler (Rare): Helps your crops grow faster and look bigger. It only functions for five minutes, and you can buy it for 25,000 Sheckles.
- Advanced Sprinkler (Legendary): Boosts your crop growth rate and gives you a better chance of getting random mutations. It also lasts for five minutes and costs 50,000 Sheckles.
- Godly Sprinkler (Mythical): This sprinkler is stronger than the first two. It speeds up growth, improves mutation odds, and makes your crops look larger. It can cost you 120,000 Sheckles.
- Master Sprinkler (Divine): The best one so far — the Master Sprinkler greatly increases plant growth, mutation chance, and fruit size. Plus, it works for 10 minutes. You can get a Master Sprinkler for 10,000,000 Sheckles from the Gear Shop.
To use sprinklers in the game, just take them out of your inventory and place them near the fruits you want to affect.
How to Get and Use a Lightening Rod in Grow a Garden
The Lightning Rod is a unique and super useful tool in Grow a Garden. It grants your crops the Shocked mutation, which can make them up to 50 times more valuable.
To get the Lightning Rod in Grow a Garden, head over to the Gear Shop and buy it for 1,000,000 Shackles. It's a bit expensive but totally worth it if you’re aiming for this special mutation. Each rod does the job three times and can zap a bunch of crops at once.
