Roblox has launched a brand new game called Monster Summer: Escape. The spooky action game is a tie-in with the upcoming Monster Summer movie, and will task four Roblox players with a fun adventure experience based on the film.
Monster Summer is an upcoming adventure-fantasy movie set to release in theaters October 4 that stars Mel Gibson, Lorraine Bracco, and Mason Thames. The film follows a group of kids just enjoying their summer when they stumble across a frightening force that nearly drowns one of their friends. Though he survives, he's left in a trance-like state, and he's not the only one. In order to find the cause and help the impacted children, the remaining kids must partner up with a police detective (played by Gibson) and face their fears.

In advance of the movie, Roblox has collaborated with Soma Games to launch a new linear action game called Monster Summer: Escape. The Roblox game tasks players with a series of challenges inspired by the movie, like racing to an old, abandoned cabin in the woods, piecing together clues to find buried treasure, surviving a dangerous flooded basement, and competing to be the best Whack-a-Rat player. The game will also feature a special trailer for the film and includes an original soundtrack.

In addition, the game will feature a special last level that won't be unlockable until the movie's release. At the end of the Monster Summer movie, a special code will be shared in the credits that will unlock this level. However, the remainder of the game is available now, and players can start earning badges by completing specific tasks in the game. With the film having a PG-13 rating, the media partnership should give families a fun experience in advance of the movie's launch, and an exciting last level to return to after watching the film in theaters.
