Aside from buying weapons and classes to complete the escape, players can also take on challenges in Dead Rails. You can’t wrap up all of them on easy mode, unlike Jujutsu Infinite, the ones marked as medium or hard must be played on that same difficulty. And the grind isn’t just for fun - it’s worth it since you’ll earn Bonds and some Star Points after finishing each one.
Electric Remains is probably one of the hardest missions in the game, taking around two to three hours on average to end. Like other tasks, you can view it from the Challenge Board (you’ll find one next to the Classes Tailor in the starting town). This guide will walk you through how to complete the Electric Remains challenge in Dead Rails.
Dead Rails: Best Trains Tier List
To beat the enemies in Dead Rails, you’ll need a strong train; here’s a tier list to help you pick the one that’s actually worth your Bonds.
How to Complete the Electric Remains Challenge in Dead Rails
The Electric Remains challenge has three phases you’ll need to complete to finish it. You can take it on solo or team up with friends. Here’s how to get it done:
Part One: Revive Tesla Boss
First things first, you need to bring Nikola Tesla back to life by putting his body parts together in the lab. To do that, hop on a fast train and head to the Tesla Tab; it’s somewhere between 10 and 60 kilometers away. Once you’re there, go inside and start grabbing the limbs. Drag each one to the table in the middle - that’s where you build the boss.
|
All Tesla Body Parts |
Location |
|
Right Leg |
Hidden behind the giant box on the right side of the Tesla Lab. |
|
Left Leg |
Lying on the floor near a table in the main hall. |
|
Right Arm |
On the table in the main hall. |
|
Left Arm |
Go to the room on the right side of the main hall, then turn right again. It's tucked behind a huge wheel. |
|
Brain in a Jar |
Sitting on a table in the right room of the lab. |
|
Torso |
Kept behind the coil in the left room. |
After you’ve placed all the parts, pull the lever located near where you found the torso. Once you do, lab zombies will start spawning and attacking, so make sure to stand on the higher platform for a better angle to shoot them. Just a quick tip: Keep plenty of Snake Oils in your inventory. If your speed drops, drinking one will help you move faster.
Part Two: Defeat the Tesla Boss at the Bridge
Next up, you need to get to the bridge, which is in the final area of the game (probably around 80 kilometers out). Just hop on your train and start moving. Along the way, loot the towns at checkpoints to stock up on Bonds, Coal, and Guns.
Once you reach the bridge, take out the outlaws first before pulling the lever. If you don’t, you’ll end up fighting both the outlaws and the Tesla boss at the same time, which is way harder. After they’re all down, activate the lever and start shooting the boss from the bridge’s starting platform. This gives you a head start and makes the fight a lot easier. Aim for his head, and make sure you’ve got a strong weapon - something like the Electrocutioner will help you take him out faster.
Part Three: Sell Telsa's Body
Once the boss is killed, just pick up his body and run back to the last town. You’ll need a horse or a good stash of Snake Oils to move fast. Make sure to get there before the timer runs out. Once you're back, head into the Trading Post and sell the body to finish the Electric Remains challenge in Dead Rails. You'll earn 30 Bonds and Nine Star Points for completing it.
