There are a couple of ways to win a run in Risk of Rain 2. Apart from the obvious one being to beat the final boss of the game, players also have the option to obliterate themselves from existence. It's not clear as to why this is a favorable outcome, but if the game says it is, then so be it.

Obliterating yourself is a simple and straightforward process, albeit one that's not entirely explained before players go on another run. If you're trying to unlock new abilities for the best characters in ROR 2, then you'll need to aim for obliteration. Here's how to do it.

Acrid is the definition of a hit-and-run character, and if you want to win as this weird, purple dino-dog in Risk of Rain 2, here are his best items.

How To Obliterate In ROR 2

The first way to obliterate yourself is to loop once via the Primordial Teleporter and enter the Celestial Portal in the third stage. For players who don't know how to loop, all you need to do is interact with the spires surrounding the Primordial Teleporter found in the Sky Meadows or Helminth Hatchery. Doing so will cause the spires to realign themselves, and shortly after, a message saying that the teleporter is aligned to the planet will appear. Finish the teleporter event to loop back to a random Stage 1 map.

Once you've started your loop, keep going through teleporters until you reach the third stage. There will be a message saying that a Celestial Portal has appeared as soon as you start the level. Finish the teleporter event and go through the Celestial Portal to reach the area named A Moment, Fractured. From here, all that's left to do is reach the giant obelisk at the bottom of the map and interact with it.

Characters like Void Fiend in ROR 2 can easily get to the obelisk in A Moment, Fractured by using their mobility skill. If you can't quite make the jump, you can use the floating platforms to make your way down.

Second Obliteration Method

If you own the Seekers of the Storm DLC, you can obliterate yourself by beating the False Son and offering an item to the Shrine of Rebirth. This counts as an obliteration victory. Also, whatever item you sacrifice to the shrine will become available for your next run, should you choose to start with the Artifact of Rebirth. Additionally, If you beat the boss with a Halcyon Seed in your inventory, you'll unlock the False Son as a ROR 2 survivor.

To get to the False Son boss fight, you need to find and activate a Halcyon Shrine and go through the green portal that appears. The next few maps will then have green portals appear after every teleporter event — keep go through the portals, and you'll eventually end up at Prime Meridian, where the False Son awaits you at the top.
