The Seeker is a unique survivor even among Risk of Rain 2's already-diverse cast. She has a stronger focus on crowd control and healing, and she is the only character so far who can revive dead teammates. This comes at the cost of her own DPS output, but with the right items, she can steamroll through enemies much like the other survivors can.
While not terribly impressive on solo runs, the Seeker drastically changes how multiplayer runs feel in ROR 2. Regardless of whether you're alone or with friends, you need to get the right items to get the most out of this Seekers of the Storm survivor. Here's a guide that covers the Seeker's best items, as well as some notes on how to best use the class.
Given the game's randomized nature, item builds in Risk of Rain 2 are not absolute without the right artifacts. This guide is designed to give players an idea of what items they should look for when playing as the Seeker.
Updated May 25, 2025 by Marc Santos: The Seekers of the Storm survivors all received new unlockable abilities for the expansion's final major update. For Seeker, this includes Palm Blast, an alternate Special skill that shoots a piercing spirit palm that damages enemies and heals allies. It's a fun skill to use that makes Seeker much more aggressive, so we've updated this guide to include a section dedicated to making a Palm Blast Seeker build work.
Risk Of Rain 2: How To Unlock The False Son
The False Son is a juggernaut of a character in Risk of Rain 2, offering a mix of both ranged and melee combat. Here's how to unlock him.
Best Items For Seeker In Risk Of Rain 2
The Seeker is a slow-paced character much like the Artificer in ROR 2. Instead of relying on large volumes of attacks, Seeker deals her damage in bursts by default. As such, players should take advantage of her high base damage values by picking items that can take advantage of them.

Every item in the game is useful in one way or another. These are not the only items you should get for Seeker, though they should take priority whenever an option presents itself.
Core Items For Seeker In ROR 2
The following items are the ones players should get first when they start a Seeker run. They form the backbone of Seeker's basic build, and once you get all of them, you're free to get other items based on your own preferences.
|
Item |
Notes |
|---|---|
|
Crowbar |
Use this to one-shot enemies and trigger Band items. |
|
Soldier's Syringe |
Significantly speeds up Seeker's slow Primary Skill. |
|
Kjaro and Runald's Bands |
Can be triggered whenever you deal more than 400% base damage in one attack. |
|
Gasoline + Ignition Tank |
Use to clear large groups and deal more damage to bigger targets. |
|
Voidsent Flame |
Synergizes with Crowbar to increase your one-shot potential. |
|
Planula/Weeping Fungus/Medkit |
Will heal you when Sojourn starts draining your health. |
|
Repulsion Armor Plate |
This item combined with the healing items above will let you use Sojourn indefinitely. |
Seeker's damage output is fairly low compared to other survivors like the Railgunner in ROR 2. However, since her attacks have high multipliers, she can trigger Band items fairly frequently. Voidsent Flame and Crowbar will let you get rid of smaller targets quickly, while the combined damage effects from Gasoline, Voidsent Flame, and both Band items will let you deal with bosses effectively.
Soul Spiral Seeker Build in ROR2
Soul Spiral, Seeker's alternate secondary skill, is much better at dealing damage. It creates orbs that revolve around Seeker, damaging anything they touch. The following are the best items players can use for a Soul Spiral Seeker build that also aims to turn Sojourn into a hard-hitting nuke.
- Razorwire - Soul Spiral provides a temporary barrier to Seeker when they hit enemies, allowing players to take advantage of Sojourn to trigger Razorwire without losing any health.
- Focus Crystal - The best common item for increasing damage against enemies within melee range. Works on both Soul Spiral and Sojourn.
- Repulsion Armor Plate/Planula - Either of these items are great for negating Sojourn's health cost.
- Medkit - Great for healing back any damage taken from Sojourn
- Ukulele/AtG Missile - Both items can proc off of Razorwire.
- 57 Leaf Clover - Helps trigger on-hit effects more often.
- Tesla Coil/Frost Relic - Great supplementary AOE damage to enemies at close range.
Palm Blast Seeker Build in ROR2
Palm Blast is an unlockable skill for Seeker that replaces Meditate. This skill is meant for players who are willing to sacrifice Meditate's healing for a damaging ability that can pierce enemies and generate barrier as well as stacks of Tranquility. Palm Blasts offers a playstyle that, when built properly into, results in a fun and satisfying experience.
Before getting into the items, we strongly recommend using Soul Spiral together with Palm Blast. This gives you a constant source of damage and barrier that you can easily rely on for when Palm Blast is on cooldown. Reprieve is also a decent alternative for Sojourn for this setup since you'll be missing out on Meditate's healing.
Now, for the items:
- Crowbar cranks up Palm Blast's damage, making it great for taking out swarms of pesky flying enemies like Pests and Wisps. Combine this with Gasoline and Will-o'-the-Wisps for even better crowd control.
- Lysate Cell gives Seeker extra charges of Palm Blast. Just one of these is enough to significantly speed up Transcendence stacking.
- Light Flux Pauldrons halves your cooldowns, but it also halves your attack speed. Luckily, Seeker doesn't need attack speed much, especially since Soul Spiral (the build's main damage dealer) doesn't scale off of it.
All items in the Soul Spiral build section will also work great here. Keep in mind that Palm Blast's size and damage increases as you gain Transcendence stacks, so line those enemies up and Palm Blast them whenever the skill is off cooldown.
