One of 2024's most notable PS5 exclusives, Rise of the Ronin, has been confirmed for a PC release in the next couple of months. Alongside the PC release date, publisher Koei Tecmo also revealed a comprehensive list of exclusive features that Rise of the Ronin will support on the platform.

Developed by Team Ninja, Rise of the Ronin was first announced in September 2022 and launched exclusively for PS5 in March 2024. The open-world action RPG is set during the Bakumatsu period of Japan, more precisely 1863, and immerses players in a story centered around the prelude to the Boshin War. Rise of the Ronin debuted with favorable critical reception on PS5, scoring a 76 on review aggregator Metacritic. Sales numbers for Rise of the Ronin were never officially announced, but it did rank third on the Japanese physical game sales charts during its launch week.

Rise of the Ronin's open-world design and combat mechanics were appreciated by many PS5 players, and PC users will soon be able to get in on the action as well. Koei Tecmo recently published a trailer announcing that Rise of the Ronin will be available on PC starting March 11, 2025. The trailer itself is for the Steam version of Rise of the Ronin, and no mention of an Epic Games Store release has been made just yet. Interestingly, PlayStation isn't publishing Rise of the Ronin's PC port like it did for the PS5 version, with Koei Tecmo instead taking over as the game's publisher on PC.

Those impressed by the feature list can pre-order Rise of the Ronin on Steam right now for $49.99, and Team Ninja will also offer bonus content to players who purchase the game before April 2, namely four additional combat styles, and the Iga Ninja armor set and katana.

The announcement of Rise of the Ronin's PC port comes amid a busy week for Team Ninja. The Japanese developer revealed the long-awaited Ninja Gaiden 4 and shadow-dropped the Ninja Gaiden 2 Black remaster at Xbox's Developer Direct 2025 presentation last week. Team Ninja has undoubtedly accrued a lot of positive traction in recent memory, and it should be interesting to see if the excitement could help boost Rise of the Ronin's PC sales.
