After completing the first major dungeon in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you must choose whether to head towards the Gerudo Desert to the west or Jabul Waters in the northeast. If you choose to head to the desert region, home of the powerful Gerudo women, this will kick off one of the main questlines in Echoes of Wisdom: A Rift in the Gerudo Desert. Keep reading to find out how to clear the entire mission, including the Gerudo Sanctum dungeon.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - All Fairy Bottle Locations
Fairy Bottles are important items to have in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, so here's where you can find all four of them.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - A Rift in the Gerudo Desert Walkthrough
When you first enter the Gerudo Desert, stay towards the bottom of the path, and you'll run into a trio of Gerudo women standing near some trees. For the exact location, check out the images above. They'll mention that the Gerudo Sanctum has been pulled into one of the Rifts, making it inaccessible.
If you look at the map of the desert, you can see the big rift on the west side. But if you have yet to explore the entire area, check out the map below to see where the rift is. To trigger the next part of the quest, you must go to the area to the south of the rift to commence dialogue with Tri. That red pin on our screenshot is where you need to get to.
After Tri stops talking, go ahead and speak to the guard to the left who is blocking the entrance to a cave. The conversation will quickly end, as a young woman will need help from Zelda.
Summon your best Echoes to defeat the monsters, and Dohna will thank you. Meet her back at Gerudo Palace in Gerudo Town to the north. You'll meet the chief Seera and Facette, who require proof that Zelda can mend the rifts.
Once you're dismissed from the meeting, the guard outside will tell you to head east to the Oasis. Just use one of the fast travel waypoints to get there. If you've yet to visit it, just head east, and it'll be an area that's easy enough to spot.
Dohna will be standing by the lake with two other people. She tells Zelda that there are three smaller rifts that need to be fixed that are scattered around the desert. They're in the Southern Oasis Ruins, Ancestor's Cave of Rest, and the Southern Gerudo Desert.
The three locations will be marked on your map. One is just a little south of Gerudo Town, another south of the Oasis, and the other is northeast of the Town. To make things easy, let's head south of the Oasis to find two soldiers lying on the ground near the rift.

It seems the Gerudo duo are at their limits and can't keep fighting off the hordes of monsters appearing from the large rift. Use your best Echoes and Swordfighter form to get the best of the enemies.
The guards will thank you once the baddies are dealt with. Unfortunately, Tri can't make a Rift entrance here, but at least Zelda was around to save the day.

Now, head to the point marked on your map northeast of Gerudo Town. You'll see a pretty entrance into a cave with two lit flames on the side.
What's The Best Echoes of Wisdom Zelda Costume?
The Blue Attire is my favorite Echoes of Wisdom Zelda costume because it stands out really well against the environments, and I love its color palette. I don't particularly feel like wearing Link's two outfits, and I don't particularly like the Royal Travel Attire – though it is a nice chance from the Disguise outfit. The two Cat costumes are really cute too, but I only equip them when I want to talk to a cat.
Right when you walk in, head left and use your Bind power to move the block, revealing a secret room.
In the next room, defeat the enemies, learn the Holmill Echo, and then move the boulder to find a hidden staircase. Go down to enter a 2D section.
As soon as you step foot on the sand, use the Molhill Echo to bury a hole in the first space. This will lead you to a nearby treasure chest with a Golden Egg.
Make your way to the right of the section to find several ladders leading back to the main room. Light the two torches (use a Brazier or Ignizol Echo), and the Gerudo will thank you for respecting their ancestors.

Now, head south of the Gerudo Town waypoint to find a group of warriors near yet another Rift. Dohna wants Zelda to head over to the Smoothie Shop at the Oasis to get a Cactus smoothie. She'll give you two pieces of Chilly Cactus, too.
If you check out our Smoothie recipe guide, you will know you can make a Cactus Smoothie by mixing Chilly Cactus and Floral Nectar.
Bring the smoothie back to the guards and the sub quest will be completed. Now, you must check back in with the Chief at Gerudo Palace.

Next, head to the rift that's northeast of the Oasis. You'll find a bunch of people there, including the Chief, Facette, and Dohna.
Once the initial conversation ends, walk a few steps north towards the edge of the Rift and press the A button on the suspicious spot with multiple rings.
Stilled Desert Temple Ruins Walkthrough - Echoes of Wisdom
Entering the Rift will take Zelda to the Stilled Desert Temple Ruins. Luckily, we have a full guide on the ruins and how to find all of Tri's friends. So you can click here to jump to that walkthrough.
Cryptic Cavern and Gerudo Sanctum Walkthrough - Echoes of Wisdom
Once Tri's friends are rescued from the Rift, you can go south of Gerudo Town and enter the cave the guard was blocking. It's to the left of the "entrance" of the Gerudo Sanctum.
We have a full walkthrough for the Cryptic Cavern right here. Once you finish the mini-dungeon, you can finally enter the Gerudo Sanctum, which we also have a guide for.
By going through the dungeon and beating the boss, Zelda will gain access to the Swordfighter form Bow, a full heart container, more Tri Rod summoning power, and Might Crystals.
This will conclude the 'A Rift in the Gerudo Desert' main quest in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
