Version 1.2 of Reverse: 1999 is back again with a new adventure for Timekeepers to embark on in their latest spooky event. A Nightmare at Green Lake is the flagship event for this update and carries the flair of a 80s-themed slasher movie mixed with magic and mayhem. Much like previous events, A Nightmare at Green Lake has multiple events that will have to be completed within a limited time so that you can get your hands on those extra Clear Drops.

If you want to indulge, there will also be new characters that you can pull through the limited Event Wishes after witnessing their skills in the main story. In the first phase, not only do we get to enjoy the main story, but we also get an inside look and trial run into Tooth Fairy and Blonney’s abilities. Between these two new characters, Tooth Fairy is our resident 6 - star to join the lineup and one of the events revolves around her Character Story. And like all Reverse: 1999 challenges, hers includes a 20-stage-long puzzle that players can take part in to win some Clear Drops.

Due to some changes from the CN client of the game, rerolling in Reverse 1999 is easier than ever on Global.

In Old Teeth and Worn Marks, you will control Tooth Fairy in her quest to find missing teeth in her collection and get a maximum of 300 Clear Drops.

Campsite Forest Missions

Stage 1 - Brake Failure

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 1 (Brake Failure)

The first stage is pretty simple and considered a tutorial stage in Old Teeth and Worn Marks. The Tooth Fairy piece can only move in four directions and after selecting a direction, it will drag itself across the board to reach it- much like a chess piece.

You can clear this stage by clicking the space towards your Right and then straight Up ahead at the exit.

Stage 2 - Hold Your Breath

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 2 (Hold Your Breath)

The second stage introduces Wild Critters to the puzzle, and they need to be defeated to advance through to the next level.

  • Up > Right (and eliminate the first Critter) > Up > Left (to eliminate the second Critter) > Right towards the exit

Stage 3 - Reckless Driving

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 3 (Reckless Driving)

In Reckless Driving, there are two Critters which will need to be taken out. You can use the following route to catch both of them and successfully reach the exit.

  • Right > Up (and take out the first Critter) > Left > Down > Right > Up (for the last Critter) > Left > Down > Right > Down

Stage 4 - Secret Operation

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 4 (Secret Operation)

The fourth stage is a little different from the rest as it’s the first stage to introduce Invisibility to the puzzle. Invisibility is one of the two Arcanist abilities that you can use in the event and, once it is activated, it will turn your chess piece completely invisible. This is advantageous when you need to pass through enemy zones without being detected or eliminated.

Invisibility will need to be activated when the chess piece comes into contact with a yellow line in the images below. This includes all future puzzles where Invisibility needs to be used as well.

  • Left > Activate Invisibility > Up > Left (to eliminate the Critter on the left)
  • Down > Right > Up (to take out the Critter on the right)
  • Down to exit the stage

Stage 5 - Little By Little

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 5 (Little by Little)

This is where things start to get a little harder as the fifth stage has a more concentrated number of Critters around. You will have to make use of the Invisibility skill the entire time to make sure you defeat each Critter and successfully reach the exit.

  • Left > Activate Invisibility > Up (eliminate the top Critter) > Left > Down (eliminate the leftmost Critter) > Right > Up > Right (for the third Critter)
  • Down > Left (for the last Critter) > Up towards the exit

Stage 6 - Wailing Wall

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 6 (Wailing Wall)

For the sixth stage, you’ll come into contact with a new enemy that is a little different from the previous Critters. The Screaming Newcomers move back and forth inspecting their respective territory, so you will have to plan your moves accordingly. There will also be a red highlighted box to indicate which way they will be looking next, so you can use that as an indicator.

However, the stage will have to be defeated within 10 rounds, so follow this guide to obtain both stars and complete the puzzle.

  • Right > Up > Up (again) > Down > Left > Down > Right > Down (to eliminate the Screaming Newcomer) > Up to exit

Stage 7 - The Importance Of Being Punctual

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 7 (The Importance of Being Punctual)

This stage will have 2 Screaming Newcomers which need to be taken out within 10 rounds to advance the stage.

  • Right > Up > Left (to eliminate the first Critter) > Up > Right > Down (and take out the last Screaming Newcomer)
  • Right > Down > Left > Up to exit

Stage 8 - Under The Surface

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 8 (Under the Surface)

This stage is a mix of all the previous stages that you have been through, so it will be important to incorporate all that you have learned to strategically get through this stage within 13 rounds.

  • Activate Invisibility > Up (and eliminate the first Critter) > Left > Up > Left > Down (to eliminate the first Screaming Newcomer)
  • Right (wait for the Screaming Newcomer to move down into your path to eliminate it) > Right > Up > Left to exit

Cottage Perimeter Missions

Stage 9 - Fierce Competition

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 9 (Fierce Competition)

In the second mission, it is here that the game introduces us to a new type of enemy called the Tooth Spirits. You should keep in mind that Tooth Spirits will always follow the shortest path to reach the exit and if you don’t manage to eliminate them before that, you’ll be forced into combat to clear the stage.

Since this is a tutorial stage, you will be forced into a battle no matter which path you take. Follow the tutorial path and go Up and Right to fight the Tooth Spirit.

Stage 10 - Castling

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 10 (Castling)

This is where things get a little tricky, because the Tooth Spirit will follow you, so you will have to outsmart them by using the Arcanist abilities you have accumulated in previous levels.

  • Up > Right > Down > Left > Up > Activate Invisibility > Down (to eliminate the Tooth Spirit) > Up > Left to the exit

Stage 11 - Steeplechase

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 11 (Steeplechase)

A new Arcanist ability will be introduced here called Intersect. This will allow you to pass through any obstacle, but this ability only lasts for 1 turn. To defeat the Tooth Spirit, you will have to activate Intersect to pass through the barrier and eliminate it.

Intersect will need to be activated when the chess piece comes into contact with a blue line in the images below. This includes all future puzzles where Intersect needs to be used as well.

  • Activate Intersect > Right > Up (to defeat the Tooth Fairy) > Up again > Left > Up > Right > Down to the exit

Stage 12 - Desperate Struggle

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 12 (Desperate Struggle)

The 12th stage is fairly straightforward now that we have Intersect and Invisibility. These Arcanist abilities come in handy, as whenever the Tooth Fairy passes through the obstacle and immediately comes into contact with the Tooth Spirit, it will be eliminated.

  • Activate Invisibility AND Intersect > Up (to defeat the Tooth Spirit) > Up > Right > Down > Right > Up > Right > Down to the exit

Stage 13 - Symphony Of Dots And Lines

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 13 (Symphony of Dots and Lines)

This stage is rather easy since we now have the Intersect ability to easily take out the Critters lurking around.

  • Activate Intersect > Right > Right (wait for the Screaming Newcomer to move up) > Down > Left (to eliminate the last Screaming Newcomer) > Down > Right to the exit box

Stage 14 - Trepidation

It’s easy to get a little confused in Stage 14, but follow this guide to make sure you do not backtrack too much and use up all the rounds you have available to win that star.

  • Up > Right (to eliminate the first Screaming Newcomer) > Activate Intersect > Right (to eliminate the final Screaming Newcomer) > Up > Activate Invisibility > Right (and wait for the Tooth Spirit to knock into you, and it will be eliminated)
  • Head Left and then Down to the exit

Stage 15 - Border Exploration

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 15 (Border Exploration)

Similar to the previous stage, you will have to use both the Intersect and Invisibility ability to successfully beat the Critters and reach the exit.

  • Activate Invisibility > Up (and defeat the Critter) > Right (to defeat the Screaming Newcomer in the area) > Right (towards the obstacle) > Activate Intersect > Move Right again to take out the Screaming Newcomer > Down > Left (to the exit)

Stage 16 - Crucial Choice

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 16 (Crucial Choice)

The 16th stage is the last mission in Cottage Perimeter and fairly easy to pass as well.

  • Activate Intersect > Right (and take out the first Tooth Spirit) > Down (to eliminate the remaining Tooth Spirit)
  • You only need to head to the exit now, so: Left > Up > Left > Up > Right to the exit

Critter Dwelling

This final mission in the Worn Teeth and Old Marks event is the hardest due to the excess number of Critters and limited number of moves available. Make sure to follow these videos right down to the second, so that you do not lose any stars and unnecessary backtracks.

Stage 17 - The Long And Winding Road

  • Up > Right (to the end of the border) > Down > Left > Up > Left > Activate Intersect AND Invisibility > Left (through the obstacle) and now wait for both Tooth Spirit to knock into you and be eliminated.
  • Head Up to the exit to complete the stage

Stage 18 - Close Up

You have 9 rounds to complete this stage and 2 Tooth Spirits to defeat.

Down > Right > Activate Invisibility > Left (to eliminate the Tooth Spirit behind you) > Activate Intersect > Go Up twice > Right > Up > Left to the exit

  • Note that the Tooth Spirit will be waiting for you there to engage in battle. After successfully defeating it, you will obtain the Tooth and leave the level.

If you do not want to fight either Tooth Spirit, follow the below moves to obtain both stars.

  • Left > Up > Down (and eliminate the first Tooth Spirit)
  • Down > Right > Up > Activate Invisibility > Down (to defeat the second Tooth Spirit)
  • Go Up > Left to reach the exit

Stage 19 - Waiting For The Green Light

Similar to previous stages, you have to combine both Arcanist abilities to clear it.

  • Activate Intersect > Left (and take out the Tooth Spirit) > Up > Right > Down > Left > Up > Right > Up > Left to the exit where you will have to defeat the Tooth Spirit to clear the level

You can also use the below method to achieve both stars, but you will be doing a lot more backtracking.

  • Activate Invisibility > Right (and take out the first Tooth Spirit) > Left (go back) > Down > Up > Activate Intersect > Up > Up > Down > Right (to eliminate the second Tooth Spirit) > Right (to reach the exit)

Stage 20 - Pincer

This is the final puzzle in Worn Teeth and Old Marks, and it also includes a boss fight. Like previous stages, a Tooth Spirit will always reach the exit before you, no matter which moves you make, so remember to bring your heavy hitters at Insight I Level 40 to get through it successfully.

  • Activate Intersect > Right (through the obstacle and towards the Tooth Spirit) > Up > Right > Up > Left > Down > Right > Up > Left to the exit where the Tooth Spirit will be waiting.

You should also know that the event does have a 21st Stage, which is only a boss fight, thus no matter which moves you make, you have to pass this round to earn stars and complete the event. Even though the recommended level is Insight I Level 40, the Tooth Fairy Boss deals 50% more damage than usual.

Reverse: 1999 - Stage 21 Final Boss Battle (The Search Is Over)

It would be better to take Star Afflatus characters at Insight II Level 30 to at least deal a significant amount of damage. In addition to that, you also take Tooth Fairy - the new 6 star Limited character, to assist with the battle if you do not have a healer with Star Afflatus.
