Revenge of the Savage Planet takes players through several planets and unique biomes, each offering new threats and hazards to overcome. One of the hazards players will face while exploring the first planet, Stellaris Prime, is the toxic fumes surrounding the Chuggler’s Swamp. Players won't be able to stay inside the area for long, as the poisonous gases will start inflicting damage over time. To venture into areas with toxic fumes, players must unlock the Default Air Filter upgrade.
Revenge of the Savage Planet: Complete Resource Farming Guide
Resources are the ingredients you'll farm across the first four planets in Revenge of the Savage Planet to craft weapons, tools, and boost your HP.
Unlocking the Default Air Filter Upgrade in Revenge of the Savage Planet
Players will unlock the Default Air Filter upgrade for their suit after reaching the planet Zenithian Rift in Revenge of the Savage Planet. Once you get access to the planet, they'll unlock the Breathe In, Don't Choke quest, which involves finding a supply crate with an air filter.
- So, head forward and enter an icy cavern that leads to the Brrrts Frozen Grotto.
- Use the Stomp ability in the middle of the area to break the cracked ground and enter the Depths of Trrn.
- Make sure to fill up on Lava before heading deeper into the cave as you'll need to use your pump gun to burn spider webs.
- Once you enter an open area with enemies, you'll spot a few floating rocks over gysers with a green hue. Use the Stomp ability on one of these rocks to crack the ground.
- Once the ground cracks, the room will fill with poisonous gas, and the AI Assistant will update the quest by helping you find an Air Filter upgrade.
- Follow the quest marker to arrive at the Plyxor's Shaft. Use the grind rails to reach the top of this area and exit into the Bilodeau's Flating Isle.
- Follow the quest marker to reach the huge floating verticle island in the middle. You'll need to follow the power cables and shoot three buttons located on the Isle to open up the supply crate.
- Once the supply crate is opened, claim your Default Air Filter upgrade.
Although you've finally unlocked the Air Filter upgrade for your suit, it's useless unless you unlock the next upgrade called Toxic Deshocker.
How to Get the Toxic Deshocker Upgrade for the Air Filter
To get the Toxic Deshocker update is relatively simple. You'll need to use the grind rails that are heading up the side of floating isle to reach Summit of Ruin. Once you reach the top, ignore the enemies in the open area and head into the cave head. Scan the larger creature inside and you'll update the quest, which will now require you to capture the Alpha Toxwin.
Simply shoot 3-4 shots at its head, right over the middle eye. After successfully hearing the weakpoint hitmaker, the creature will become stunned/dazed. Use your whip to capture and send the creature back to your habitat. To quickly head back to your habitat back at Stellaris Prime, use the teleporter located in the Summit of Ruin, on higher ground.
Access the terminal inside your base and start research on the Alpha Toxwin. Once the research is complete, you'll finally unlock the Toxic Deshocker upgrade. The upgrade will cost 400 Aluminium, 525 Carbon, and 325 Silicon. Once you craft it inside the 3D printer, you'll be able to finally explore the areas that were previously inaccessible due to toxic fumes in Revenge of the Savage Planet.
